In the very heart of St. Ives, Lowen (the apartment) is a 'cute as a button', cottage style, one bedroom flat with charming period features. Lowen has recently been interior design re-furnished to a very high standard and is a great combination of boutique style and comfort. It is within easy walking distance of all of the beautiful beaches in St.Ives. Situated on the bustling main shopping street (Fore Street) it is ideally located for anyone wanting to experience St. Ives with everything on their doorstep and you are right at the centre of everything. The Barbara Hepworth museum, the Tate and a host of other art galleries, the ancient harbour front with the fishing boats are all a stroll away. There is a choice of 5 beautiful beaches in town as well as a wide range of restaurants from fine dinning to local favourites. You are free to wander the cobbled streets or relax on the beach and return to the cosy charm of Lowen. As the Owner my aim is to give guests a really great stay with personal touches. Previous guests comments have ranged from 'perfect location' and 'home from home' to 'absolutely delightful'.' There is free unlimited WiFi. Towels, bed linen and welcome pack included. Small well-behaved dogs accepted (1 per stay) October - March by prior agreement only, there is a £25 dog charge, dog bed provided. Dogs are not accepted during the Summer months. There is no parking at Lowen but the nearest long stay car park is Barnoon car park, a few minutes walk away. There is also space to unload your car outside Lowen on Fore Street. See Cornwall Council Website under St. Ives Car Parking for details on car park locations and charges. There are 5 long stay council run long stay car parks in St.Ives. Short breaks (minimum 3 night stay) are available usually low season at a cost of £80 per night. Short breaks also accepted over the Christmas and New Year period see rates for cost. Please note that it is weekly stays only during April-September and there is a Friday changeover.

Hi I'm Sam and I've lived with my family in the St.Ives area for many years now. I own and manage Lowen myself and know what a difference this can make to a holiday experience. As a family we enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Cornwall offers and are lucky to have the choice of so many lovely beaches in the St.Ives area. I enjoy the artistic heritage of the town and often go to see the displays at the Tate. I truly think St.Ives is a perfect holiday destination because of the mixture of beautiful scenary and beaches, picturesque town and great places to eat and shop. As a local I'm happy to advise guests on any questions they may have from where to eat to places to go!

Our property is a cottage style apartment in the heart of St.Ives. It's Fore Street location means that you literally step out of the flat into town. The shops, bars, cafes, restaurant and beaches are moments away. It's lovely to wander down to the old harbour front, have a drink outside 'The Sloop' and watch the fishing boats come in.
What makes this Apartment unique
The flat is stylish and has a quirky charm typical of the older properties found in St.Ives. It also has all the modern conveniences i.e. well equipped kitchen and spacious ensuite bathroom.The central location means you can just nip out and come back if you want. I love to sit on sofa under the window watching the hustle and liveliness in the street below.

Loved this flat
The flat is cosy and fully equipped. The location is great as it is easily accessible to beach, restaurants, shops and galleries.

Lovely central location
Centrally located perfect for a couple
Very comfortable and great location.
My elderly parents stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed being in the middle of things. They could nip to shops and restaurants. The only downside was the steps up to the apartment. The apartment is advertised as being suitable for the elderly and infirm but it is accessed up a flight of stone steps and the step into the foyer is high. They struggled to cope with the steps and we had to use a small stool to help them get up and down the highest step. Also, a non slip mat and a shower caddy would be helpful in the shower. They were worried about slipping and couldn't bend down to pick up toiletries from the floor. They loved the flat though and were very impressed with how well equipped and quiet it was.
Perfect little property!
We stayed at Lowen for four nights in early October. It is in a great location close to shops and restaurants, although a little noisy at night when the pubs spill out.
A great little home from home with everything you need. Thank you Sam for the milk, teabags and wine!!
If we return to St Ives we would stay at Lowen and definitely recommend it to our friends.

Perfect apartment in ideal location
This lovely apartment is ideally located up some steps off Fore Street. It was well-equipped with everything we needed, including books and DVD's - although we were lucky with the weather so we didn't end up spending much time inside!
This was our first visit to Cornwall and we are definitely planning to book to stay here again.

A choice of beautiful beaches within a few minutes -Porthmeor (overlooked by The Tate) best for surfing (has a surf school for lessons and hiring equipment). Porthminster good for bathing with the award winning Porthiminster Beach Café. Porthgwidden smaller and romantic. The Harbour beach offers boat trips to see the seals and fishing. All of these have beautiful golden sand. The Hayle Estuary is a bird watchers paradise.
Newquay airport is nearest at about 40 miles, Exeter airport is 100 miles. Trains from London (Paddington) change at St. Erth for St.Ives . The flat is about 10 minutes walk from the station. Taxis are available. There is a bus station with buses to Penzance and Truro. Use of a car is not essential as the property is central, however it may be useful if you want to explore. There is some free street parking and 8 council car parks 'Barnoon' and 'The Sloop' are nearest car parks to the flat.
St. Ives has the Tate gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum both a few minutes stroll from the apartment. Further afield are the ancient town of Marazion and stunning St. Michael's Mount (about 9 miles), Penzance (9 miles), The Minack theatre (cliff top amphitheatre) and stunning beach at Portcurno (18 miles). Lands End and Senen Cove (10 miles). The county town of Truro is 24 miles away. The beautiful Isles of Scilly is a quick 20 minute hop from Lands End airport.
St. Ives has a wide variety of shops including well known high street names like Cath Kidson, Fat Face and Super Dry, Cornish chains such as Warrens (pasties) and SeaSalt (fashion) as well as fascinating little independent shops- you could happily spend hours browsing the shops in town! There are also a host of art galleries where you can buy paintings. There is a deli selling fresh bread etc a few doors down, supermarkets, banks, cinema etc all in town.

Booking Notes: If your stay is more than 60 days away you have a choice of paying the entire amount upfront or a deposit of 25% of the rental. The balance (75%) is payable 60 days before arrival. If your stay is less than 60 days away the entire amount is payable. I also ask for a £50 refundable damage deposit. All being well, as it usually has been, this is refunded within 7 days of departure. Lowen is available 3pm on arrival day & we ask to vacate by 10am on departure day. Payment is via BACs online payment or directly on Owner's Direct website. Bookings made less than 60 weeks before arrival require full payment. Booking terms includes details of cancellation policy. Well behaved small dogs accepted outside of the main season (i.e.October-March) by prior agreement only, there is a small charge of £25 per dog to cover extra cleaning. Changeover Day: Friday (some flexibility out of season) Notes on prices: All prices include gas, electricity, wifi, towels and linen. Short stays welcome off peak which is from October - March excluding half term weeks (12th-19th Feb) and Easter (25th March-15th April). Short stays are a minimum of 3 nights at £80 a night. We also accept short breaks over the Christmas/New Year period at £90 a night, minimum 3 night stay. Dogs are charged at £25. Late bookings welcome.
