Thanks Simon for letting us stay in Hinderwell house again for the 4th time. The cottage is so cosy located in an ideal place near to all Staithes has to offer. Sorry we didn't get chance to see you this time but perhaps next year when we return, the parking permit was an added bonus
Delightful old cottage
The cottage is very easy to access from the loading /unloading parking bays on the road. It is in a lovely part of this beautiful village and though very close to shops and pubs, feels really secluded. The furnishings are up to date and fit in well with the cottage and include a large screen TV and excellent broadband. Everything we needed was provided including a welcome basket. We would certainly like to stay there again.
Lovely, well equipped cosy cottage
Lovely open ground floor space, large TV, good sized sofas (albeit a little uncomfortable) but we were out more than we were in, so no big deal, a well equipped kitchen, complimentary breakfast basket. Comfortable double bed and good size bathroom with double shower. Overall it’s a light, airy, very clean, fresh cottage and would highly recommend staying here.
Lovely little cottage
Well equipped, lovely little cottage. We have stayed here before and will definately return. Love Staithes and the friendly locals.
Unclean property uncomfortable & not suitable for people with disabilities
On arrival at Hinderwell Cottage on 11/8/18 We found the cottage was very dirty! We had to go out & purchase cleaning products. So we could clean the surfaces toilet down the side of the stairs. The toilet brush was absolutely disgusting that I need to soak the brush to no avail. The pillow case protecters were stained? The window sills were thick with dust as were the fireplaces. When you moves the ornaments of the fire in the bedroom you could see how long these items had not been removed for cleaning. There was no mention about the parking costing £5-6 24hrs a day 7 days a week! The settee's had duck boards under the cushions making it very uncomfortable to sit on & relax. Had to sit at the table during our stay! No storage for dry products. Floor hadn't been swept behind the setter in front of window. Dustbin hadn't been emptied was 1/2 full of old ash. Mucky used sponges left under the bathroom sink? No hot running water for shaving in morning had to boil kettle every day. Had too wash hair under mixer tap at kitchen sink. I took photos of the cloths I used. We didn't stay the whole week because of the unsuitablillties of the cottage? Beam in bedroom by window not suitable for anyone being taller then 5'6"? We didn't love our stay did click on Not really but it changed to loved it? We most certainly did not love it.
I’m at a complete loss at this review.
The last thing I always say to guests before they stay is “please don’t hesitate to contact me anytime during your stay” I live 100 ft from Hinderwell House. I could have come and sorted any problems
I walked in after the guests stay and got hot water from shower and hot water taps straight away.
As for the cleanliness of the cottage I would have had the cottage cleaned again straight away. The cottage was cleaned fully before their stay and I saw it, it wasn’t dirty at all.
I send a starter guide before everyone’s stay, that gives details of all parking and links to sites with updated costs.

Lovely cosy cottage, home away from home.
Hinderwell House is a lovely cottage for two. It was our second visit to this cottage, walking up to it felt like coming home. For us it is perfectly situated in Staithes. Hope to stay again.
