No 4 Lowerbourne is a very comfortably furnished cottage in a quiet side street, yet in the heart of the village of Porlock, within Exmoor National Park. This location provides an excellent base for exploring Exmoor, the wildlife, surrounding villages and beautiful coastline.
The entrance door opens into a hallway and then through into the open-plan living and dining room with wood-burning stove. The fitted kitchen is to the rear of the property, and French doors from the dining area open into the courtyard behind, with outside table and chairs. From the hallway, stairs lead up to the first floor where there is a family bathroom comprised of bath with shower over, hand basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Plus two bedrooms, one with double bed and one with twin beds.
The kitchen is fitted with an electric double oven with hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of cookware and kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. There is a small freezer under the stairs.
A flat screen television (with Freeview) and DVD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property.
An ironing board and iron are provided for your convenience. There is a washing line in the garden.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The property is fitted with night storage heating on the ground floor, and electric heaters in the bedrooms. Plus there is a very efficient wood-burner in the dining area to top up the heat; a basket of logs, kindling, and matches will be provided in the cooler months to get you going. Further logs can be purchased from the Hardware Shop in the village.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Some tea, coffee and sugar is provided. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper, oil and some herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher powder/tablets and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.
A security deposit of £200 is required when booking this property to cover the cost of any damage during your stay. This security deposit will be returned to you after your departure providing there is no damage to the property or its contents after your stay.
There is a parking space for one vehicle directly outside the property. Parking for further vehicle/s may be found elsewhere in the village, and there are two Pay and Display Car Parks nearby.
