The upper south-eastern facing apartment in the prestigious Seafield Development on the sea front in Seahouses. With stunning views out to sea, to Seahouses Harbour and directly to the Farne Islands, its location could not be bettered for those who wish to holiday in a property close to the village facilities with the added attraction of a fabulous view point from which to while away the hours watching the world go by. The apartment offers outstanding opportunities for walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists and those who wish explore this undiscovered county.

This lovely first floor apartment offers:-

Stunning views of the harbour together with those directly out to sea towards the Farne Islands from its lounge area and balcony. The dining kitchen, also with a small balcony to take advantage of the evening sun, is well equipped and finished. The apartment comfortably sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms, each ensuite (one with bath & shower over, one with shower), both rooms having beds which will be set up as Super King Doubles, though either or both can be requested twins if preferred. The master bedroom also has sea views. An infant in travel cot can also be accommodated.

The finish and decor of the apartment is of the highest quality, designed and implemented by the owners' daughter who is an interior designer. The colour scheme is bright and fresh incorporating modern hues of coral, jade blues and sands combined with muted tones, and driftwood styled flooring.

Linens and towels are from "the White Company" and the owners, who have holidayed in the area for many years themselves, have also provided some personal touches to make you welcome.


A security protected communal front door leads to a staircase to the first floor, where the apartment has its own front door.

Entrance hall leads left to the Lounge with stunning views to the East over the sea to the Farne Islands and South East to the Harbour of Seahouses. Lounge has:-

Off the Hall are two ensuite bedrooms:

Bedroom 1 is en-suite with a bath with shower over. Super King bed which will be set as a double unless specifically requested to be a twin. Bedroom 2 is en-suite with a shower. Will be set as a twin unless specifically requested. Both bedrooms come with ample storage space.At the rear of the property is a bright and airy kitchen/dining room with balcony, which benefits from the evening sun:

oven and hob dishwasher microwave fridge freezer ample good quality cookware, utensils, crockery, cutlery, glasses and serving ware full kitchen inventory available on request.

Outside Space:

The property has two private balconies - one to the front overlooking the rocky shore (great for rock pooling with or without the kids) towards the Farne Islands, with views also over Seahouses Harbour, and one to the rear off the kitchen dining room, making the most of the all day sun.

1 lockable storage unit on car parking level - great for storage of cycles or other leisure gear.

What is included in the price:

All bedding, bed linen, towels, electricity and parking for 1 car are included in the price. A complimentary supply of tea, coffee, milk and sweet treat will be provided as a welcome when you arrive at the property. A full list of welcome kitchen and toiletry supplies is available on request. Netflix, viewable on smart TV - enables you to make a choice of films, TV programmes and shows over and above Freeview channels, plus you can bring your game station or lap top and plug in, therefore we do not provide a DVD player. Wi-fi Ocean Club Membership (charges apply £6 per adult, £3 per child entry) Fitness Suite, 20m pool, spa, and also free entry to Health & Beauty area (appointments required charges apply see treatment menu on site), and Coffee Shop.What can be arranged (please choose these items when booking from the options and extras part of the booking form if required):

Notes & Special Conditions:

Portside electric heating and hot water systems are supported by, but not soley supplied, by Solar panels.

A travel cot & high chair are available but must be requested on your booking prior to arrival, please add to the comments box when online booking, or ask when making a telephone booking.

A starter selection of toiletries will be provided.

A kitchen welcome pack is also provided.

This property can be booked with Upper Deck which is next door for a further 4 people in one great location. Each apartment has been set up to enable 8 dining together.

A good housekeeping bond of £150 is required to be lodged during your stay at this property. To arrange payment of the good housekeeping bond, one of the property management team will contact you once your booking arrives.

Children are welcomed at Portside, though be aware that this is a first floor apartment with a balcony deck.

The property is non-smoking throughout, and sorry does not accept pets.

Short breaks of 2,3,4, nights when available are usually calculated at 80% of the weekly price, however there is a minimum booking price of £425. Short breaks available 1st November to Easter (excluding school holidays, Christmas & New Year), breaks at other times of the year may become available if dates remain unlet within 30 days of arrival.

Even on a grey day in early December there's something spectacular to see from the full height windows in the Portside lounge.

Our third stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our third stay at 6 Seafield-Portside. The location is perfect, we used the local buses this year either to or from some glorious walks. Billy Shiels provided with an excellent crossing to the Farne Islands, we could watch the boats leave the harbour from the lounge window. All in all our perfect type of holiday.

Great stay. Wonderful location. Good guides available. Views amazing. Loads of great places within short walking distance. Will definitely go back. Super when weather was not so good to be able to have use of the club house on the park behind.

Beautifully situated with sea views, this is our second visit this year to this apartment. Peaceful, relaxing, private, warm and comfortable. Everything you need is provided in this well maintained apartment. Dedicated parking. I am sure we will retun.

A pleasant week in Seahouses, staying at Portside.

Having previously stayed in this apartment, we knew what to expect; high quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The balcony to the front offers a splendid view of the Farne Islands and catches the early morning sun. Very secure parking to the rear of the apartment and a personal store for your beach gear are a welcome addition.

The glorious Bamburgh beach is a five minute walk from the apartment and the town centre shops are close by. There are many great castles and gardens to visit, all within a thirty minute drive from Seahouses.

A relaxing and peaceful location, highly recommended.

A very short 4 day, but very welcome break

We found the apartment decorated and equipped to a very high standard, and with everything thought of. In a lovely setting with the views over the sea, and easy walking distance into Seahouses, and a short drive to Bamburgh. Where we found some lovely places to eat.

Walking & Amenities:

Just a short walk into the centre of Seahouses, and 2.5 to Bamburgh along the beach Easy access to Seahouses and all its amenities, from the busy harbour where seating is provided so you can while away the hours watching the toings and froings of harbour life, or stretch your legs on the beautiful beaches which run North and South and are ideal for leisurely walks, or try the 6 mile return beach walk to Bamburgh, or the 14 mile return journey to Newton by the Sea (great pub awaits for the mid walk break).

Amenities close by:

Shops, butchers, bakers, pubs & restaurants, newsagents, petrol station, takeaways (Italian, Indian, Chinese. Harbour where you can leave on excursions to visit the Farne Islands, to see Puffins (May to July), Grey Seals and many other species of birds. The area is popular with birdwatchers and photographers.

A short drive:

Bamburgh Castle (2.5 miles north) sits atop rocky outcrop overlooking the beach, 15 miles south Alnwick Castle and Garden a popular spot for those with green fingers, and Harry Potter fans (the castle was Hogwarts and the site of the quiddich pitch in the 1st two films.

Travel and Access information:


Alnmouth for Alnwick station is approx 15 miles south - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh Berwick upon Tweed approx 25 miles north - a mainline station on the North East Coastal line with regular stops from London to Edinburgh


Buses run by Arriva and Travelsure stop in Seahouses itself the X15 and the X18 services run north and south along the coast from Berwick to Newcastle


Newcastle International is approx 50 miles south, Edinburgh Airport is approx 90 miles north. Both airports have daily internal flights from a number of UK locations, and international flights on a regular basis. Car hire is available from both airports.


Seahouses is situated on Sustrans Coast and Castles Route 1 and is a popular stopping point.
