Why Mary Clegg chose Halstock
All of our visitors have commented on the quiet and peaceful location but some have had a documented affect on their health! This includes lowering blood pressure and needing less insulin. We know that living in an area of outstanding natural beauty has its benefits and we certainly enjoys the walks and birdsong. The stream meanders through the garden and the flowers can be enjoyed almost year round with crocus, daffodils, snowdrops, fritilaria and primroses in the spring to roses, hydrangea and cosmos in the summer. The village has a vibrant community feel with a lovely 16th century church with it's own Saint (Juthware) where the bells toll on Thursdays and church services.
What makes this Cottage unique
Grantham cottage has been built to a very high specification and 2 of the beds are Adjustamatic. We have used quality cotton bedlinen so you can be assured of a blissful night's sleep. There is free wifi and large screen TV. There is a TV/DVD player in the main bedroom. The bathroom features a walk in/sit down bath and shower with grab rails to make lifting easier. The underfloor heating makes padding around in bare feet a joy. There is a private patio and small garden in an elevated position so you can enjoy the wider garden to the main house which overlooks the rose garden, stream and farmland beyond. We have magnificent oaks and lime trees over 250 years old to enjoy which bring abundant bird and wild life to the garden. Our 5 squirrels create havoc and fun scampering through the branches chasing each other!
