About the property

Beautiful, detached luxury 3 bedroom villa

Large luxury poolside, fully air-conditioned, villa on a quiet complex of 23 villas. The front garden extends to a large pool and children's pool. The complex is only a short 10 minute stroll to Yalikavaks beach, marina and waterside restaurants. Unwind in beautiful, natural surroundings. The atmosphere is relaxed and romantic. The locals are very friendly. Making friends here is easy.

The beautiful air conditioned lounge and the dining area has hand-made furniture. The fully fitted kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a cloakroom and two terraces (one with alfresco furniture). The first floor has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms (one en suite) and a bath/shower room. A large roof terrace is ideal for private sunbathing or drinks watching the sunset. Our villa and garden enjoys the sun all day and all evening. The site is dotted with fruit trees that you can help your self to when the fruit is ripe. A perfect setting. A travel cot and high chair are available if required. A barbecue is also provided.

Pool opening times.: The pool is open between May and October. The pool is larger than many other complexes in the area and more than adequate for the 23 villas here. You will even find you have the pool to yourselves at times.

Why Marie-Claire Chamberlain chose Bodrum

We choose this property because it offered us almost everything we were looking for in a villa abroad. The only thing we couldn't get was the sea view, but with it being just a short walk to the sea, we couldn't complain. The villa is a flat walk to the sea, beach, shops, bars and restaurants, marina, town and bus station and it is also on a nice quiet site with plenty of space and a large pool, so we couldn't really ask for more.

What makes this villa unique

Though we are on a site of 23 villas, we do not have other villa sites surrounding us, so we are quite private. There are some resident Turkish owners also living on the site, which is nice, but of course, this does mean that everyone should respect the fact that this is their home and so save the noise for the beach bars.

There are 2 sun loungers on the roof terrace and 4 sun loungers for use in the garden or around the pool. We have a good quality stereo with a flying lead that plugs in your ipod/mp3/cd or phone (like a docking station, but better). We leave our minidisc player there for your use, if required, complete with a varied selection of discs. Unfortunately we have had to remove the complimentary bike facility as the bike were being left in an unfit state for the next renters to use and we felt that this was unsafe and unfair, so we apologise for any disappointment to anyone for this. The villa sleeps up to 6 adults plus one infant (cot and highchair provided). The site is occupied by full time residents and respect is asked for at all times for the others on site. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE POOL IS OPEN FROM 1ST MAY TO 31ST OCT

Wonderful holiday in yalikavak

  • 5 of 5

The villa is fantastic. Very spacious with all the equipment you would need. Spotlessly clean and one of the best locations on the site. A real plus was the close proximity to a market and a baker. Even better was the close proximity to Yalikavak centre. 10 minutes on the flat. So much of the accommodation was up in the hills. Yalikavak was a real find. A combination of little old streets with lovely fish restaurants along the seafront and then an amazing marina. If you are looking for somewhere that is still very turkish this is it. Would definitely recommend. Marie-Claire was really helpful and made everything very easy for us.

A little piece of Heaven!

  • 4 of 5

Just back from a two week stay in Villa Aaliyah Yalikavak with my husband and two sons (19 and 15).

Yalikavak is just so lovely it has two very different sides to it. The new mega marina where the Billionaires party, dock their super yachts and buy their designer clothes and the traditional side where you get to experience the true warmth of the lovely Turkish people. The rich end is nice to go and see but we much preferred the genuine feel of the traditional side. Restaurants were excellent and very reasonably priced in particular Sofies where you can dine out on the pontoon, Dedes and J Joes ( my favourite)

The Villa is very spacious and on the best site in the complex. Our sons were disappointed when we arrived as it was so quiet not many people around but after a day they soon realized this was a very big bonus as we had the pool to ourselves most days. The pool was immaculate and maintained each morning. The villa is ideally situated and we were able to stroll across to the beach front where we enjoyed both the company and cuisine of the very friendly locals. Don't be put off by the area around the complex it is rundown but once you are in the Azelea complex itself it is beautiful.

You can simply stay at the villa if you want a relaxing break or use it as a base as we did and explore the areas, beaches and Bodrum which were all very close. DODO beach club is a must especially if you have teenagers just heaven to lie on the pontoon on the sumptuous sunbeds and enjoy the very welcome cool breeze whilst admiring the beautiful scenery.

The Villa owners Steve and Marie Claire could not have been more helpful and put a complimentary bottle of wine and beers into the fridge as we had a delayed start due to passport issues... YOU MUST HAVE 160 DAYS VALIDITY ON YOUR PASSPORT TO ENTER TURKEY.

Bodrum is not too far away and reachable by one of the many Dolmas buses. We hired a car but be warned driving is NOT for the faint hearted it is very challenging. The boat trips are a must. As My brother and his wife were staying in Bodrum we hired a boat from there but you can do this from Yalikavak. We had probably the most perfect day ever stopping at beautiful little bays to swim in the crystal clear water and then enjoy a fabulous lunch cooked for us by the skipper. Turkey is just so beautiful we left wanting more and will definitely be back!

Owner's Response: We would like to thank our guests for this lovely review. We are always really pleased to hear that guests have enjoyed Yalikavak, and the surrounding areas, as much as we do. Driving in Turkey is quite an art, and unless you are a hardened foreign driver who can cope with challenging road users, it is probably best to stick to the regular and cheap dolmas buses. Turkey has taken quite a bashing this year, on the tourist side, which is probably the reason it was quite quiet during our guests visit. Unfortunately, the media doesn't do Turkey any favours, but I am sure our guests will agree, Yalikavak and Bodrum show no sign of trouble what so ever and we have always felt very very safe there. We are glad our guests finally managed to enjoy their holiday after a very stressful start and we hope they have enjoyed the villa enough to want to book it again.

Lovely villa, would definitely recommend

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a week;s holiday at Villa Aaliyah and were very impressed with the villa, the complex and the resort of Yalikavak. The villa has a great position next to the pool; it's clean and has all the equipment you need, The pool was large and never felt overcrowded even though many of the other villas were occupied. The owner was extremely helpful throughout. We love the resort of Yalikavak with its many beachside restaurants, traditional Turkish quarter and the very upmarket marina on the edge of the village. There are many restaurants to choose from; we ate out every eve mainly at the beachside restaurants and never had a bad meal - food was good quality, excellent value and the staff always friendly and welcoming. The complex is only a few minutes walk from the beach. The excellent and reliable dolmus service in Yalikavak also means you can easily explore other resorts without having to hire a car. We would definitely go back and stay at villa Aaliyah

Perfect *****

  • 5 of 5

Perfect. Exactly as described. Plenty of sunbathing space in the garden and then dunk in the pool. Set just outside town (only a 10 minute walk to the restaurants), lovely and quiet. Owners were very prompt in replying to any questions I had. There are now 4 supermarkets within a 5 minute walk of the villa for all your needs. Recommended to everyone, young and old. Look at trip advisor for restaurant reviews. Plenty of choice for all budgets and tastes.

Owner's Response: We are so pleased to hear that the family were happy with the villa, the location and Yalikavak. It means a lot to us that people have a good holiday as time with their families is precious and should be enjoyed. We try to make things as easy as possible for our guests and relaxing as we can, and we will do our best to sort out any queries they may have as quickly as possible, whether it be before they go or while they are out in the villa because that is how we would like to be treated ourselves. Things change in Yalikavak on a monthly basis, so it is good to get feedback from our guests on things like new supermarkets because we cannot be there ourselves to see new ones popping up and now we can tell our next guests that there is an even closer one, so thank you for that. There is nothing nicer than to hear that a family have had a good holiday in the place we love with the family they love.

Beautiful Villa, in excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for two weeks, and couldn't have been more impressed with the facilities and excellent location of this villa. We felt that this property was the best placed on the complex, as it is 'pool side', but with enough garden to make it private. The property was cleaned thoroughly when we arrived, some others on the site had problems with ants, but we didn't find these to be a problem. The villa is about a 10 minute walk from the main town, on a quiet road, although easy to walk to the supermarkets locally. We did have a car, although you wouldn't really need one - the local buses are excellent, and we used them to get to Bodrum for the day. The owners were also really helpful, giving us the name of a really good car hire firm, and the villa was really well equipped. To sum up - would definitely book again if we wanted to visit Yalikavak again.
