About Peter Corbett
We have been coming to holiday in Cornwall ourselves for more years than we care to remember, initially in our younger years to surf on the North coast, although if surfing is your thing the South coast has plenty to offer with the rugged Whitsand Bay only a short drive along the coast. We visit all year round & the beauty of Looe is...its open 365 days a year!!
Peter Corbett purchased this Cottage in 2007
Why Peter Corbett chose Looe
We just love the area, including wonderful coastal walks & impressive variety of restaurants to rival any big city right on your doorstep.
What makes this Cottage unique
We enjoy sitting out with a bottle of wine after a lovely day's sun on the beach.
Very nice cosy little cottage
Very clean and presentable, situated in the heart of Looe, with the beach, harbour, pubs and restaurants on the door step.
Thanks for the review Kevin, glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again soon
Lovely quaint place. Clean cosy. Perfect.
Thank you Peter. A lovely spot. Immaculate cottage.
Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope to have you back again soon.
We enjoyed it!
Peter is always responsive to questions and answers within a short time. He informed us in detail about the way to the house, the code for the key box and the parking possibilities before arrival.
The house is located in a narrow lane, about 2 minutes walk from the harbor and 3 minutes walk from the beach. To unpack the suitcase you can drive 2 streets nearby the house. There is a key box with code numbers. Paid parking (£ 13.50 and £ 5.50) is 8 and 15 minutes' walk away. With luck you can also book a reserved parking space nearby. In front of the house is a bench, you can set up a small wooden table and more chairs, as it is located on a small nice square. Although the house is located in the center, the alley is very quiet. Good restaurants and shops are nearby.
The house is very clean and comfortably furnished. On the ground floor is the very well equipped kitchen with large dining table, on the 1st floor the living room and a small bathroom, on the 2nd floor a bedroom with comfortable double bed and a bedroom with two single beds one above the other. TV in each floor.
There is no LAN or Wifi, the mobile reception in the house is moderate, outside ok. We felt very comfortable here and would have liked to stay longer. We thank Peter for allowing us to be his guests.
Hi Frederike & Gunter,
So glad you enjoyed your stay.
We are aware of the wi-fi issues & will be putting broadband on for next year.
We do hope you are able to come back in the future & stay a bit longer.
Fabulous home from home, perfect location!!
What a great week we had at Sandpipers Cottage. After a simple luggage drop off it didn’t take us long to find our feet. This cottage has everything you could possibly need for a holiday. Great location literally a 1 minute walk to the beach and restaurants are on your door step! We found the collection of DVD’s great as there were a few ‘British summertime weather’ days so these kept us occupied! The beds were super comfy and the kitchen was very well equipped if you wanted to cook!! Personally I made it my mission to try all of the local pasty shops!!
One small issue is the stairs, although my family are all able bodied I think the spiral staircase would be an issue for some but then this is to be expected in a small cottage, for us it just added to the fun!! Great shower in the bathroom and unlike a previous review I had read this place was spotlessly clean from top to bottom! I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
Thank you very much for taking the time out to write such a detailed review & one that I'm sure will help inform future holiday makers.
We hope to welcome you back in the future.
This cottage is in a lovely, quiet location, 2 minutes from the beach and one minute from high street shops. We very much enjoyed our stay. A couple of minor gripes. The smoke alarm kept beeping so we had to disconnect the battery to get any sleep, and the frying pan was in a nasty state and needs replacing. .
Everything else was great
Thanks for your review. The smoke detector has now been replaced, thanks for alerting us to this. We have also replaced the frying pan where the non-stick coating had been damaged.
We hope to have you back as a guest sometime.
Very pretty cottage
The cottage was lovely and very central to all amenities except for parking, but once we realised the car was parked in a safe place it was great.
Only downside was that it was a bit dusty and needed a good vacuum ,(my daughter is asthmatic).
We would definitely recommend this place to other visitors.
Thanks for your review. We take on board your comments about the cleaning & will pass this on to the housekeeping team.
I can assure you that the cottage is cleaned & dusted between every visit, but it may be on this occasion that our high standards were not quite met.
We hope it hasn't put you off staying in the future.
