About David & Trish Hann
We live in England and are semi retired professionals. We enjoy walking, biking, surfing and general outdoor pursuits and have personally holidayed in Cornwall and in particular Charlestown for around 10 years.
David & Trish Hann purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why David & Trish Hann chose Charlestown
We love Charlestown due to it's historic setting complete with Tall Ships and original harbour & buildings, yet with a vibrant and pleasant atmosphere combining old and new. There are fine beaches within easy walking distance and plenty of local pub, bars and restaurants catering for most tastes within Charlestown itself. You don't need to get the car out for an evening out! Regatta Week (usually in July) is a special celebration with a range of traditional and modern nautically themed activities throughout the week.
What makes this Cottage unique
The property is centrally located within Cornwall with easy road, rail and air transport connections. It is ideally situated for exploring the many beaches on either Atlantic or Channel coastlines, historic country houses and gardens including the Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. The facilities and amenities available within Charlestown itself make it an attractive and interesting holiday location whether for main holidays in peak season or for short breaks off season.

Pebble drift cottage - Charlestown
Perfect for a family of 4 (kids 12 & 15), 200 metres from Charlestown Hub. Easy parking. Supermarkets less than a mile away. We used it as a base to travel to other parts of Cornwall including Tintagel (60mins), Gwithian beach (60 mins) and Lizard (1hr 20). Eden project 10 mins away.
We had a great week in Pebbledrift cottage which was as lovely as the photos suggested. It was immaculately clean and equipped with everything that we needed. We made full use of the little garden and appreciated the parking space as the village got very busy. Location was great; we were able to walk to a supermarket and bakery as well as access the coastal paths, and being close to the A road meant easy drives further afield. Charlestown itself is extremely pretty with plenty of venues for eating. It did get very busy and wasn’t the sleepy harbour village we had imagined! However we had amazing weather so this may have contributed to its popularity.
We would definitely recommend Pebbledrift as a perfect holiday base.
We loved our 7 day stay at Pebbledrift Cottage and were so sad to leave. The property is really convenient for site seeing and shopping It is so well equipped. Would like to return asap
A delightful cottage
Pebbledrift Cottage was everything we hoped for during our wonderful week in Charlestown. The accommodation was spotless and were delighted to find a Cream Tea waiting on arrival! The restaurants in the Harbour provide something for everybody and some much needed refreshment after long walks along the coastal paths. We highly recommend Pebbledrift to everyone!
An excellent cottage in a unique Georgian port.
We have stayed at Pebbledrift many times and always feel welcome there.
The clean, well appointed cottage has private parking and is very convenient for all of Charlestown’s attractions.
The Eden Project is very near, as are many other towns and Cornwall’s capital city, Truro.
An excellent cottage which we hope to visit many more times.
Very relaxing break in gorgeous coastal cottage
My husband, 2 kids and I had a really lovely time in Pebbledrift Cottage. We were welcomed on arrival at the cottage with fresh scones, cream and jam and appreciated the cleanliness and peacefulness of the cottage from the onset.
We were very lucky with the weather and could enjoy some time down on Charlestown beach which is only a few minutes walk away and also on nearby Porthpean beach. We sampled some local mussels and Cornish beers and cheeses which were all easy to come by.
Pebbledrift Cottage is an ideal location for both the Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project, both of which were a huge success with all the family. Thank you David and Trish for welcoming us in your home.
