Adults and children both rave about the finished lower level recreation room complete with wet bar, mini refrigerator, billiard table, foosball, ping pong, bar with 6 stools, and a poker table. Lake Cumberland Resort, Kentucky's finest gated community, offers three swimming pools (one is walking distance from our house),on-site restaurants, tennis court, children's play area, and a country store for basic supplies including fuel. The resort is situated on a 1000 acre peninsula adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest- the perfect place to explore on an ATV.
PLEASE NOTE*** Our home is not part of the Lake Cumberland Resort rental program. This means that the owner rents the home himself instead of using the resort rental agency. Guests still have access to all resort amenities. Please contact Owner Kevin Cox via email or cell phone listed. .
My wife and I bought the lakefront lot in 2002 when we were first married with a vision of family vacations at the lake. Construction followed a few years later in 2005. This is our only vacation home and you will find many upscale amenities normally not found in rental homes. It is also the reason why we rent the home ourselves to make sure we personally speaking with all our prospective tenants and find just the right fit! For us, we wanted to be on the lake all day and then have the finer amenities at night. We built the home large enough to always bring friends and family with us.
kevin Cox purchased this house in 2002
We believe the home is the perfect place for multiple families to gather. It is large enough to accommodate multi generations of families meeting from all over the country. With the addition of the large finished porch, the entire family can eat meals together. However, the home also offers plenty of space for peace and quiet with kids playing outside or in the lower level while the adults relax on the main level. There is nothing better than a long day of boating on the most beautiful lake in the country (personal opinion) followed by a perfect family meal and gathering in an upscale home. Our kids love the home because the large front yard and the property offers opportunities to play kickball and other activities like bike riding and frog catching.
If you search large family vacation homes, rarely will you find these homes built with large dining rooms. It is not a priority when building a vacation home. However, we heard from many of our guests that they wanted to have family meals in one central location. Converting our screen porch to a four-season room in 2014 was the answer. We keep the lake views and added a dining table for table with room to add more seating.
Three separate families (6 adults and 2 grand children) had a tremendous time at this large well kept/clean home. We all had different "parts" of the house. We ate meals together but never felt cramped. Plenty of kitchen space and all the utensils we needed to cook and grill. The downstairs game room was a big hit. We had pool tournaments as well as heated pin pong matches late into the evenings! The private balcony off the master bedroom was especially nice 1st thing in the morning for a cup of coffee. We plan on making this an annual trip and will bring a bigger group next time.
Lake Cumberland is an area of hidden gems that is for sure and this house is one of them. Sitting on the bank of the river with a view of the mountainside this gorgeous family retreat provided us an amazing spring break get away with our family and friends. Lots of big cozy beds and bathrooms, fun family places and plenty of private places. The big deck and screen porch add even more space. Its a gorgeous drive down mountain roads to get to the property but so worth it when you get there. Hopefully you have at least one day with some rain while you are visiting because the beautiful pop up waterfalls that appeared on the mountain across the river were amazing.
My family, along with both of my sisters and their families and my parents, stayed in this home for 4 days in April. We had a wonderful time. The home was clean and well maintained. That is a big deal to me as I have issues with germs and such. I didn't feel any anxiety about staying here.
The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The bedrooms were big and comfortable. Even with all of the family together, there was plenty of space to have some quiet, alone time if one wanted it.
The children loved the hot tub, the deck, the pool table and the giant tv area in the basement. They also loved the big chess set. Who knew 6 to 10 year olds would enjoy chess so much?
The view is beautiful. We loved exploring the neighborhood and doing a little fishing.
This house was well supplied with sctivities for both adults and children. With the new dining area, our whole fsmiky could est together. The layout gives plenty of space for both group and independent spaces. Thank you.
We rented this lovely home for an Easter weekend gathering of a large community service group, and found the setting to be perfect! Multiple large comfortable gathering areas, plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, a large well equipped kitchen, a driveway large enough for 10 vehicles, and a wonderful large diningroom to serve as a gathering spot for meals.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay, and give this property our highest recommendation for large groups.
My family stayed at this lovely home in Sept. It sits on a quiet street and is beautifully appointed inside and out. We were however very disappointed with the view. The picture labeled "view from the deck" is inaccurate. The foliage is so overgrown that the water is not really visible. My aging father was hoping to walk to the water's edge to fish but this was impossible. The other pictures are spot on and it is truly a beautiful home. I know how much I depend on the reviews of others when picking a rental and so want to be honest.
We visited Cumberland Falls which were stunning and enjoyed dining at the old Hotel near the falls. We also enjoyed a day trip to Mammoth Cave approx. 2 hours from this house. There are several Marinas within driving distance with watercraft rentals available. Overall this is a beautiful, spacious home very comfortable for large gatherings.
