The gite is a converted stable and retains all the character features of oak beams, rustic nooks & crannies while offering an extremely comfortable home-from-home stay. The kitchen is particularly well-equipped and spacious, so cooking is a pleasure. The lounge remains cool despite high temperatures and is a restful haven for reading, watching TV, DVDs or videos, a large selection of both is provided. The bedrooms offer both sitting/reading areas as well as comfortable beds and fresh linen. There are TVs & DVD players in each, and each has its own bathroom with shower, sink & WC. Each offers a great view of the lovely courtyard and fountain or of wooded hills. As well as your own private terrace you have a private garden for sunbathing & relaxing.

About Heather Bowman-Taylor
I am a retired psychotherapist and teacher who moved from London with my husband in 2010 to our lovely farmhouse in the gorgeous Midi Pyrenees. In addition to the gite, which sleeps up to 7 guests, there are also two chambres d'hote rooms in the main house. These are also available when there are groups larger than 7 who wish to stay in the gite, and can accommodate 2 guests in each double room, each with its own bathroom. Unfortunately my husband died earlier this year, and I am carrying on the work of renovating the house and garden and running the gite and B & B rooms, which we began together. Our aim is to provide a high standard, but very comfortable, home-from-home for all our guests, & to share with them this slice of paradise, which offers peace & tranquillity for complete R & R
Heather Bowman-Taylor purchased this Farmhouse in 2010
Why Heather Bowman-Taylor chose Vieuzos
We previously had a holiday home for 5 years in the Gironde, between Bordeaux and Bergerac. Though we loved that property, as retirement approached we realised we should like to run a gite or B & B, and our holiday home was too small for this. We decided to find a property full of history and character, and chose the Midi Pyrenees because it has everything to offer: the beauty and peace of rural France, the spectacular Pyrenees mountains, easy access to Spain, markets, sport, relaxation etc. The farmhouse sits on a ridge with superb views across a wide valley in one direction and wooded hills in another, and is on a Knights Templar site where pilgrims walked the ridge en route to San Juan de Compostela just across the Spanish border.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The property is perfectly situated to access all the treasures of the Midi. We are in the Hautes Pyrenees department, but close to the borders of the Gers and Haute Garonne, and equidistant between the Atlantic ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. You can enjoy walking, cycling, golf, tennis, fishing, horse riding, skiing, snow-shoeing, climbing, white water rafting, bird watching, etc. Or browse local markets, brocantes and vide greniers; dine out, picnic or eat on your own private gite terrace. For culture visit Toulouse with its art galleries, Pau, Tarbes, Auch, Mirande, for architecture, concerts etc. There really is something for everyone within easy reach. Or if you only want to relax you can just sit in the garden, in the sun or the shade, and enjoy a glass of the excellent wine
