About Jennifer Reed
I am an Interior Designer & my husband is a Project Manager in commercial construction. We discovered Abruzzo 15 years ago & fell in love with the village of Loreto Aprutino. We wanted a house that had a very Italian feel rather than a renovated 'villa'. We have retained it's authenticity & feel we have added to it. We love it and enjoy it as much as possible - time allowing. We are happy to share it and know you will love it too. .
Jennifer Reed purchased this House in 2003
Why Jennifer Reed chose Loreto Aprutino
Casa Giuseppe Verdi provides a truly authentic Italian experience. A fabulous region with everything to do. With the beach and the ski resorts within easy distance. The home of Montipulciano d'Abruzzo wine & wonderful cuisine. Who couldn't enjoy being a part of this lovely location. Genuine Italian experience in a bustling village. Situated between exquisite Adriatic beaches and skiing opportunities in the central Apennines mountain range.
What makes this House unique

Exquisite stone villa full of character
We had the most marvellous stay in this exquisite villa in the heart of beautiful Loreto Aprutino old town.
The villa is exactly as described by the owners, and is all we expected and so much more. It is a traditional stone villa, so full of character, which has been decorated and furnished beautifully.
The kitchen is huge, a delightful area for both cooking and dining. Having breakfast at the rustic dining table, with the shutters open to the street, is delightful.
The bedrooms are spacious, sunny and airy. The first floor bedrooms open on to a delightful balcony, while the upper bedroom has a Juliet balcony with shutters. All have amazing views over the valley.
The large sunny terrace on the top floor is adjacent to the old chapel, and has has a built in barbecue. We enjoyed many glasses of wine around the table.
It's difficult to tear yourself away from the villa, but the area is superb. The village itself is typical old Italy, with quaint winding streets leading down to the centre. There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area, and the locals are so friendly and helpful.
Car hire is recommended, as this area is wonderful to explore, and the scenery is breathtaking. We particularly liked Lido Atica at Pineto, a delightful restaurant on the beach, approx 20mins drive and well worth a visit.
I would highly recommend the stunning Casa Guisseppe. Thank you so much to the owners, Jennifer and Ken, for the privilege of staying in your lovely home.
An Italian diamond
This is an amazing house in an enchanting village full of charm with all the modern conveniences without loosing site of the history within the walls.
The description of the property can only give a flavour of the delights that the property holds All rooms were spotlessly clean, comfortable and had a very relaxed feel, just what you need for a holiday. The terrace was a wonderful place to take in the sights and sounds of the surrounding area.
Thank you to Jennifer and Ken for allowing us to stay in their magnificent casa.
We would not hesitate in recommending this casa for anyone wishing to sample a slice of Italian life.
Beautiful home, fantastic location
We stayed at Giuseppe Verdi in August 2014 and had the most fantastic holiday.
Everything was exactly as described in the listing, the house, location and local area.
The house itself was absolutely amazing - everything we were hoping for and far more. Right in the heart of Loreto Aprutino, the house is steeped in history, full of character and has been modernised to a very high standard, really complimenting the house.
The owners had thought of everything in terms of home comforts, we didn't want for a thing. The beds were very comfortable, we slept so well! The kitchen contained everything you needed to cook and eat in, equally, lots of detailed information provided with reviews / directions to local restaurants too.
As per the listing from the owners, car hire really is essential for this property to fully explore the local area / Abruzzo, however there are many bars, lovely restaurants and cafes in a small walking distance from the house too. New Evo was a particular favourite of ours which was a short walk away from the house and Il Casolare (short drive away) was great for rustic Italian food.
The owners were extremely helpful and quick to respond to our initial enquiries, and once we'd made our booking, they provided lots of detailed information and maps on how to get to the property, even supplying a picture of the front door which was such a good idea, esp as we arrived at night.
They provide lots of useful information at the house about the house and local area, plus there was a very friendly English neighbour who was really helpful (Max) and the local people are so welcoming.
Loreto Aprutino is in the perfect spot for exploring Abruzzo. A 30 minute drive and you can be on the beach, or in the beautiful Gran Sasso mountains. This is our second visit to Abruzzo and we can't wait to visit again.
Thanks again to Jennifer and Ken for letting us stay in their beautiful home, it was the perfect base for a fantastic holiday in Abruzzo.
Sarah, Christian and Ellie, thank you so much for your review, we try hard to make each stay perfect and are so glad you enjoyed the house, the village and Abruzzo itself. Your holiday is precious and we appreciate you choosing our home. Hope to have you visit again.
Sehr schönes Altstadthaus, toll eingerichtet. Alles ausreichend vorhanden. Schöne Stadt, sehr schöne Strände, allerdings starker Verkehr dorthin.
Bei einer Belegung mit 8 Personen fehlt ein Bett. Wir hatten Kinder mit, daher war es nicht schlimm.
We spent two weeks in Loreto Aprutino, first for the Festa di San Zopito and then to enjoy the Abruzzo countryside. The house is elegantly decorated, serene and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay immensely and appreciated all of the beautiful touches and love that the owners have put into the house that make this a really special, warm and happy place to be.
35 minutes drive to our personal favourite beach & restaurant in Pineto. Outstanding choice of beaches for couples, parties or family holidays.
8 mins to lovely local private swimming pool in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Pescara airport 20 minutes drive. Car hire essential - several companies available at Pescara Airport.
Within walking distance of house there are 5 restaurants, 6 cafe/bars, 2 banks (1 with cashpoint). Butchers, bakers, daily farmers market. General market on Thursday in the main square. The city of Pescara is a 20 minute drive with excellent shopping opportunities.
2 banks within walking distance of house + cashpoint.
