Holly Cottage comprises a former cattleman's cottage that has been comprehensively renovated and extended to provide a high quality contemporary living environment coupled with traditional country cottage features. Underfloor heating, 3 sets of bi-fold doors, double sided log burner and electric velux windows are just part of the specification.

About Tim Metson

We are a 3rd generation farming family. The grassland farm consists of a pedigree herd of Hereford cattle, sheep and horses at livery. Totalling approximately 200 acres we are situated in a popular but peaceful tucked away position in the central Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We look forward to welcoming you to our home!

Gorgeous countryside hideaway

Fairytale cottage, with hotel style service from lovely family run farm. We arrived to a very well stocked kitchen including delicious coverwood artisan meats from animals that are visibly very well cared for. The cottage is delightful modern and clean whilst still retaining plenty of charm. The practicalities of the house have been carefully considered so it was very easy for us as a family to settle in. The house has two bedrooms but the layout works that the second lounge works perfectly as a third bedroom with its own showeroom. The horses and cows on the farm were a joy to see as you drove through the farm to get to the house. The views were wonderful and enjoyed some beautiful Autumn walks. We were lucky enough to stay during an open day at coverwood and loved the magical gardens and lakes. Peaslake has good pub and village shop. And cranleigh is a lovely town with some lovely shops. Highly reccomended for an escape to the country. Quite hard to leave...

Great views, accommodation and setting

We had a delightful week at Holly Cottage. We were greeted with many quality eats, treats and drinks which we enjoyed during our stay. The views are beautiful and the farm activities were of interest too. As no light pollution on a clear night you can see the full glory of the stars. High spec modern accommodation in a peaceful relaxed setting and a good base to explore the beauty of Surrey. We wish to return.

Splendidly perfect

It's not often you find a cottage offering a 5-star experience at a 3-star price. Coverwood Farm is a bucolic retreat, perfect for anyone wanting either to get away and rest, or see the outstanding beauty of the Surrey Hills.

What made this an instant hit for my two kids (11 and 13) and I was arriving after a long flight to find a fridge full of organic farm goods: eggs, butter, cheese, beef, ice cream. There were cookies and coffee. The internet behaved fast and flawlessly the entire week. The TV had no problems, the washer and dryer were great. The place is clean, airy, bright. It has fantastic views, horses, sheep, cows the kids will be delighted to see. Out the back you can walk up to Holmbury Hill, or further to Leith Hill. The location is ideal for biking, for running, for ambling in the countryside.

Guildford was 20 minute drive away, Gomshall with its wonderful pub - the Mill - 8 minutes.

To top it off...Tim, the owner, is an affable rural entrepreneur who understands that extroverts want to chat, introverts want to be left alone. A landlord who...gets it.

Of all the cottages in England I've stayed at...and there have been a few...this is the only one I'd go back to. It is awesome.

Really lovely located holiday cottage. Has everything you need and really lovely house with plenty of room. Wood burner great although sufficiently warm even when not on. Great amenities and lovely location. The meat on arrival was a great edition and really tasty. Our only comment would be a comfier mattress / bed and warmer heavier duvet. Other than that, really great two week stay.... Thank you

Ideal holiday base

We loved our time at Holly Cottage. Perfectly situated close to Gatwick (easy to find using GPS) and surrounded by fabulous and friendly historic villages. By way of contast the cottage is ultra-modern and fully equipped with the latest appliances and furniture. Wonderful views to wake to, easy walks up the hill, and very helpful and friendly host. Highly recommended. We would go back in heart beat.

Wonderful Cottage

We have just stayed at Holly Cottage and cannot rate it highly enough.. It is located in a beautiful setting, surrounded by farmland, friendly owners live close by and nothing is too much trouble. The Cottage itself was spotlessly clean on arrival, bright and spacious with all the amenities one would expect of a quality rental property. All this topped off with welcoming touches.

Travel:

Due to rural location, the use of a car is strongly recommended. Gatwick airport 30 minutes drive. Heathrow airport 45 minutes drive.

Distances:

The village of Peaslake is approximately 1.5 miles. the popular village of Shere is about an 8 minute drive and the county cobbled high street town of Guildford about 20 minutes.
