The Longhouse Sleeps 7 (3 Bedrooms)
About Mary Cole
My family have lived at Cullacott Farm for over 100 years so we know every crook and cranny of the houses and of the surrounding land. We live on site so are available at all times to help guests in whatever way we can. We love the area in which we live and are eager for our guests to get the most out of their holiday with us by not only offering a unique building to stay in but also by using our local knowledge to inform them of events happening locally and interesting things to do to suit all tastes.
Mary Cole purchased this Farmhouse in 1910
Why Mary Cole chose Werrington
As mentioned in my profile, my family have lived at Cullacott Farm for over 100 years. It is situated on the Southern side of the beautiful river Ottery valley with fantastic views of the countryside. It is in an ideal position for exploring both Devon and Cornwall, with Launceston the ancient capital of Cornwall just 3 miles away.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Cullacott farmhouse is a Grade 1 listed medieval Hall House on a small working farm and provides stunning unique self catering holiday accommodation. There are big airy rooms with huge open fireplaces, slate floors downstairs and polished wooden floors upstairs, a quirky maze of rooms and staircases with a medieval Great Hall in which to dine, maybe by candlelight, imagining oneself to be the Lord of the Manor or his Lady wife. Around every corner there is an historic feature yet the property is well equipped for 21st century living. Enjoy the freedom to roam the farmland and surrounding area with walks along our lanes to the river or the woods taking in the abundance of wildlife.

Great period cottage
Thanks for a great stay. Fabulous history, character and tradition.
Nice touches from the owner made the stay welcoming and inviting that can often be lacking.
Amazing historical building
We really enjoyed our stay at the Long house. The house is one of a kind; the grand hall was an amazing room and it was lovely to find out about the building’s history. The setting of the home was really nice and we enjoyed an evening walk down to the river. Would definitely recommend and hope we can stay again.
Amazing - surpassed all expectations!
What a fabulous house and historic experience! Lovely interior and furniture, huge garden and beautiful views, really friendly and welcoming owners - couldn't ask for more and definitely aim to come back. Highly recommended!
Thank you for such lovely comments.
We shall look forward to welcoming you back.
This is a beautiful cottage in picturesque surroundings
The property has a fascinating history behind it
We wanted a break to unwind and this was exactly what we were looking for and would highly recommend it
Beautifully, and sympathetically restored house..
Staying in The Longhouse was like stepping back in time! I took my 8year old Grandson and 15year old nephew and they insisted on eating in the Great Hall every meal time. Staying in The Longhouse was a unique experience. It was very spacious, quirky, but had been lovingly restored. With plenty of outdoor space and a delightful garden, it was perfect. I will definitely be booking The Longhouse again.
Wow!! Escapism and adventure with homely touches what more could you want!
Some people pre-plan their breaks away months and weeks in advance to get what they want. We booked this very last minute and have been so impressed! Take one fantastic, charming historic house offering buckets of intrigue, add lots of homely touches, beautiful gardens with stunning views and more than adequate comfortable living areas (comfy beds and sofas) and great info on how it all came to be, Mary and her family have created something really super special. An epic stay, thoroughly enjoyed by us all... we will be back. Just make sure you're good with narrow stairs. An experience we would thoroughly recommend. Brilliant.
The majestic North Cornwall beaches of Bude, Widemouth Bay, Crackington Haven, Trebarwith, Sandymouth, Duckpool are a 20 minute to 30 minute drive away.
