Apartment to let in the stunning seaside resort of L'ampolla. This brand new ground floor apartment sleeps 4. It comprises of one bedroom with double bed, large studio/lounge/dining area with sofabed, dining furniture and all kitchen appliances incl washing machine. 1 bathroom with large basin, shower and toilet. All towels and bedding included. The air conditioned lounge has patio doors leading out onto a furnished patio with wall and gate with use of a swimming pool. The apartment is ideal for families and is fenced with secure parking. You can enjoy a sea view and are only 100m from the beach and local tapas bar. You are within walking distance to the beautiful harbour town of L'ampolla with many amenities. The town has good transport links to Barcelona and Valencia, however the surrounding area is best discovered by car. The local area offers a knights templar castle, kayaking on the river Ebro, snorkelling at the local coves, coastal hiking paths and of course lots of lovely tapas bars and restaurants to sample. We absolutely love this area and can give you lots of local tips to make the most out of your Spanish holiday.

Nice compact apartment, well equipped, very quiet

We spent 15 nights here in August 2014 and had a lovely relaxing time. Of the block of 6 apartments, 3 are not inhabited and the 2 others are lived in by locals who are very quiet and don't use the pool very much so it seemed as if we had a private pool most of the time with very little overlooking neighbours.

The site is very secure with electric locked gates, shutters etc which seems to be the Spanish way. It was also immaculately clean and tidy outside with a 5 minute walk to the beach and lovely views to the mountains behind. You can see the sea from the front door but you wouldn't sit there with a beer.

The apartment is well equipped with most things you would need or want - the teenagers with us would have liked wifi but a 15 minute walk into town sorted that out. Martin provided a separate mattress for our teenagers as well as they didn't want to share the large sofa bed.

With a large TV, DVD player and equivalent of Now TV giving some English channels, they were also kept happy for periods as well.

The bedroom with comfortable double bed has plenty of wardrobe space, enough to store the clothes of 3 females and leave me one small shelf anyway.

The apartment is a good walk along the sea front to the town which is a nice small spanish resort which we loved - you will not find a bar selling full English breakfasts thankfully. There were only a few shops and with a spar providing most essentials and one very overpriced gift shop. Deltebre has a couple of bigger supermarkets including Lidl and mercadona.

Nicest town we found in the area was Tortosa with spectacular views across the plains and mountains from the castle. Taragona an hour up the road is also well worth a visit obviously.

I would avoid the waterpark Aquopolis though, overpriced and far too busy - 5 rides in one day does not keep teenagers happy.

All in all, we had a very relaxing time and would happily recommend the apartment to anybody wanting to visit this area.

wifi tip - the town provides free wifi in the centre but the ice cream shop Jijonenca was happy to give the password whilst you try their ice-creams - crema cataluyna was the best.

Really nice quiet apartment

The apartment is perfect for a couple who like a quiet village. It's clean, well equipped and within very easy walking distance of the centre of the village. L'ampolla itself is quiet but has lots of nice restaurants and a couple of shops for groceries. The beaches are only ok, and wouldn't be the main reason for staying here. The Ebre Delta is fascinating, Tarragona is worth a visit as is Peniscola. Morella is also amazing (a bit of a trek) You'll definitely need a car if you plan to visit theother places. I'm biased because we got fantastic weather, but for a quiet but really nice break, this is a really nice apartment and I'm very happy to recommend.

nice apartment

Apartment and pool area very clean. Amenaties within the apartment good. 20 min walk to the centre of town where parking can be difficult suggest hiring bikes. 10 min walk to nearest sandy beach and resturant. Overall very pleased with price and apartment.

au top!!!

Concernant l'appartement, il est très spacieux et très pratique. Le propriétaire est très sympathique. L'environnement est très agréable, idéal pour une petite famille qui recherche calme et soleil. Un petit manque d'animation en soirée à l'Ampolla mais Saloo n'est qu'à 30 min de route pour ceux qui aime faire les magasins et voir du monde. Merci pour cet agréable séjour, je recommanderai sans hésitation ce lieu de tranquillité...

L'Ampolla is situated on the east coast of Spain in the Catalonia province. It is a seaside resort with a harbour and marina. The small town is situated between Barcelona and Valencia a comfortable 1 1/2hr drive from Barcelona and only 35min drive from the popular resort of Salou (Reus Airport). L'Ampolla is based on the Ebro delta, a rich fertile area famous for it's rice farming, natural parks and an abundance of wildlife. The river Ebro itself is renowned for its record breaking catfish. There are also many small mountain ranges ideal for hiking/walking. There are also many good local beaches to visit in this area. Salou is home of one of the largest European theme parks and water park, (Port Aventura), so there's plenty to keep the kids entertained.

Other Activities: Bird watching. Cat fishing trips can be arranged. Yoga classes, Kayaking, snorkelling, hiking, castle and local pottery trip.
