Overlooking the River Lym, Homestead is a wooden cabin built in 1915 and recently refurbished to a high standard. This cosy and comfortable home, retaining much of its original charm, provides a perfect base for holidays in Lyme Regis. Footpaths along the tranquil River Lym provide an attractive and easy walk to the seafront, shops, pubs and restaurants, or, heading upstream, walking routes in the beautiful surrounding countryside including the Wessex Ridgeway long distance route. The living room is cosy and comfortable, with a wood-burning stove. There is a sun room at the front of the property providing a lovely spot for relaxing, looking at the river, and watching the world go by. Off-road parking for a medium sized car is available on the property's driveway. Please note the access is awkward. Larger vehicles can be parked nearby. Parents of young children should note the terraced garden and proximity of the river. Monday or Friday changeover.

About Sheena Le Bas
We moved to Lyme Regis from rural Derbyshire in 2010 to be closer to family and the beautiful Dorset coast. Homestead is a family venture, owned by my mother and managed by myself and husband Ben with assistance from our three girls and various friends and family. This is an entirely new undertaking for our family and we are excited about sharing Homestead with visitors and giving more people the opportunity to visit this beautiful corner of the England.
Sheena Le Bas purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Sheena Le Bas chose Lyme Regis
Homestead is only 5 minutes from our own home in Lyme Regis; a place that we love sharing with friends and family when they come to visit. It is in a fantastic setting on the river Lym and its cabin structure has that lovely seaside feel.
What makes this Cottage unique
Watch the world go by from the warmth and comfort of the spacious sunroom. If the sun is out you will feel its full benefit in the sheltered garden. Enjoy the nautical theme to the décor and bright, airy feel.

Good location.very clean.good facilities.Excellent all round
we loved everything about the holiday.
Smartly decorated and superbly equipped cottage in lovely quiet convenient location
Nice, bright, clean cottage with plenty of space for our family of four. We had everything we needed and were very content and comfortable. A real home from home.
The location was excellent - on a quiet lane next to the little river - with a leisurely level walk into town and to the beaches and a lovely walk the other way upstream into the countryside. The children appreciated the brilliant play park only a five-minute walk away too.
All communications with owner and housekeeper were great.
Lyme Regis is a fabulous place to spend a fun and relaxing couple of weeks. Varied beaches (though the sandy beach was packed!) for fossil hunting, rock-pooling and wave-chasing; lots of great places to eat (yummy ice creams) and things to do (eg, mini-golf, museums, the mill, shopping, walking, amusement arcade).
We were sad to come home, but happy that we'd had such a great holiday!
Lovely place to stay , very convenient to get to town centre , just a ten min walk along the river path
Beautifully presented property in a lovely location
Lovely property, beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The parking access was a little difficult but then parking in Lyme is not easy anyway.
The location was lovely with the river Lym running in front of the property and only a short walk to the beach and amenities.
There was also a lovely riverside walk up to Uplyme. We enjoyed a relaxing week and spent time sitting in the conservatory watching the world go by. Thanks Sheena.
Lovely location and a lovely place to stay.
The accommodation was more than we could have hoped, everything we needed and more. Made for a really lovely break, with the added bonus of a really cosy log fire. A real home from home. Location was just a short scenic walk along the river into Lyme. Perfect.
There is a 10 minute walk to Lyme Regis beach with its picturesque promenade, harbour and famous Cobb. Part of the beach is sandy and ideal for families and for swimming; shingle covers other parts of the beach. The coast to the east and west of Lyme Regis is famous for its fossils, although care is needed especially near the soft cliffs.
Many visitors to Lyme Regis find that everything they need is accessible on foot - you may find you don't need a car once you get here (especially for a short break). The nearest station is at Axminster, 4 miles away. The nearest airports are Exeter (30 miles) and Bournemouth (40 miles).
Booking Notes: Deposit 20%, balance must be paid 6 weeks before the arrival date. Change over day is Friday minimum 7 nights throughout summer. Short breaks considered from November to March minimum 3 nights Friday to Monday or 4 nights Monday to Friday.
