Street parking can usually be found but parking permit for nearby car parks is also available. Non smoking house and no pets allowed.

- Notes on accommodation: Property is cleaned and bed linen changed upon departure of the previous occupants. If you stay for more than one week, an additional weekly clean and bed linen change is provided. Minimum stay during the main holiday periods is 7 days. Change over day is Friday. The property is non smoking. No pets allowed. Outside: In front of the house, there is a south-facing part-walled patio garden with chairs and table which overlooks loughrigg fell and Ambleside. There is a stone, lockable shed behind the house. There is a commercial collection for the bin. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Cleaned once a week on a Friday.

Wonderful property in a perfect location.
Could do with some newer kitchen pans etc for self catering.
Excellent location and cosy base for a lovely walking holiday
Our second visit to Lookfar and we enjoyed it just as much though the weather wasn't quite as wonderful. All of Ambleside is on the doorstep and when it was raining, we had space and facilities to enjoy. Very comfy beds, good showers, large TV, maps and guides for the area.
Perfect location, beautiful views, all mod cons.
We were very happy with the cottage. It was well-equipped, cosy, and perfectly situated. We had a mixed bag of weather, but I can't blame the property for that.
The beds were very comfortable, the wifi worked well, the TV was high quality, the cooker worked, and there is a very useful outside drying / laundry room. The location is the best bit though.
One minor point - the mirror in the top bathroom tends to mist up as soon as you turn the shower on, so I would have liked a pole for opening the skylight.
Overall - excellent. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Fantastic holiday home to come back to after a day walking the fells, cycling to Wray Castle, kayaking at Windermere or a simple stroll back from the local pubs. Beautifully furnished and fitted out and great location. Would definitely come back. Highly recommended.

Quirky Bolthole with all the Trimmings!
We thoroughly enjoyed this cottage - it has everything you need for a wonderful break in the Lakes. It's location is second to none and lovely walks can taken directly from the door steps.
Internally it comes into its own.
The facilities, layout, equipment and furniture is of a very high standard without being fussy.
It is a lovely place to return to after a day on the fells, walks and surrounding villages.
We would highly recommend this property to anybody who loves the Lakes!

Ambleside is in the central lakes on the A591 directly linked to the M6, approximately 25 miles from exit 36.
Access to the house is straightforward; local directions will be provided on booking.
Distances:
The cottage is 2 minutes walk from the centre of Ambleside. Ambleside is in the central lakes and is an ideal location to visit the rest of the lake district. Windermere is approximately 4 miles, and Grasmere the same in the other direction
Further Details:
Ambleside is one of the largest and best equipped lakeland villages. It is the starting point for many walks and bicycle rides. The villages has all amenities; 3 small supermarkets, butchers, bakers, cafes, restaurants and coffee shops. There are numerous outdoor shops, a cinema with multiple screen, jazz bar. Climbing wall. playing fields, crazy golf and boat hire all within the village area. Nearby Windermere has a train station and an excellent large Booths Supermarket.
