15 Grand Rue is a town house (maison de ville) in the midst of the ancient village of Colombiers near Beziers in the Languedoc region of France. It sleeps 5 and a short walk away from the Canal du Midi and 5 miles from Beziers. Beautiful beaches are a 20 minute drive away and about one hour from Perpignan, Montpelliers and Carcassone airports. Only 30 minutes drive from Beziers airport. Our village is a maze of little streets. Colombiers is more open and cosmopolitan than some French villages, having additional restaurants, bars and a small supermarket to cater for the boat trade that travel along the Canal du Midi in the summer. In half an hour you could be walking in the foothills of the Haut Languedoc National Park or trying wines in the countless Domaines throughout the region. If you want the beaches, the bars, the night life, they aren't far away. If you want to sit in the shade of the plane trees that line the canal with a picnic, you can do that as well. If you want history there is more than you could possibly want within an hours drive.

Charming, cozy home in a lovely village
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Colombiers at 15 Grand Rue. Our family of four adults and one four year old were very comfortable. The house is well equipped and the owners have provided all the information necessary to keep everything well running. There is also a wealth of information about sightseeing in the area. Colombiers itself is a treasure. We were fortunate enough to attend the town Christmas fair - a real treat for our grandson! The Canal du Midi was a pleasant place to walk, the local restaurants were very good, and our neighbors were very pleasant-even the cats who loved our leftover fish.
Our visit was in December so the weather was not ideal. We hope to return another time. Thank you again to our hosts.

Lovely, quirky old village house - full of character and well-located for beaches and attractions.
We really enjoyed our stay at 15 Grand Rue. The house is full of character and you feel part of the local community within hours of arrival. You do have to scamper up and down stairs a bit between the upstairs living area and the downstairs shower-room but we benefitted from the exercise!
The house was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. There was just 2 of us on this trip and we had plenty of space but I imagine if the full capacity of 5 beds were being occupied things might be a little crowded in the kitchen / living room.
The "welcome pack" was extensive with lots of clear instructions on how everything worked and useful advice (although if I get to the stage of needing an arrow on the dashboard to remind me to drive on the right I think I'll just send my licence back to DVLC and go by bus😊).
We felt the property was fairly priced at this point in the season and represented good value for money.
No hesitation in recommending to others.

Thank you Chris for taking the time to review your stay at Maison Petit Grand. It is always good to get feedback from our quests. The house and village are full of character which is what we fell in love with 17 years ago. Thank you again For your review and booking. Anne and Eric
Clean comfortable home in a quiet narrow street that has excellent baker 2 minutes walk away. Several very good restaurants within 10 minutes easy walk. Very interesting area with amazing beaches a short drive away.
Lovely little house in a good location.
I stayed for a week recently during a motorcycle trip with a friend. The house suited our purposes very well having a large room on the ground floor where we could leave the bikes off the road. The house is on a narrow road so it's not an option to leave a car outside for any length of time but there is adequate parking in the town just a few minutes walk away.
The two double bedrooms are a decent size with a small single off the upstairs room containing a unit for hanging clothes and plenty of drawers in the main bedroom. Downstairs there is an area just outside the bedroom with plenty of room for storing personal possessions.
The living /kitchen/dining room was well equipped with everything we needed and double doors opening out onto a a small balcony which caught the sun most of the day. There is no oven just a hob and microwave so don't plan on cooking any roast dinners.
There is a cloakroom upstairs which is convenient for the upstairs living area and bedroom and a small shower room downstairs which is basic but perfectly adequate with plenty of hot water.
The location is good, being just a few minutes walk from the shops, restaurants and port area where you can take a boat trip on the canal or just watch the world go by. The path along the side of the canal is very popular with walkers and cyclists if you're of a more energetic persuasion.
To summarise, the house was comfortable, well equipped and well maintained and we enjoyed our time there.
I must also mention the owners who couldn't have been more obliging and provided us with
not only comprehensive details of the 'do's and dont's' of the property but also driving tips, local customs and areas of local interest.
Quiet, spacious and well located accommodation
The townhouse is clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. The distance between its two floors creates a sense of space and privacy. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The dining/television viewing area was quite sufficient for our party of 3 adults. The downstairs room, by the entrance, houses a washing machine and is useful space for drying clothes and storage. The accommodation has a number of portable floor fans which are definitely needed when its hot! It is located in a quiet, narrow, street but very close to both an excellent bakery and a wonderful takeaway pizzeria where you could enjoy a beer or glass of wine while you wait. We were provided with a great deal of useful information about getting to and accessing the accommodation, the locality, restaurants and potential places to visit and things to do. It is essential to have a car and this townhouse in Colombiers is well located for exploring what Languedoc offers.
