This charming one bedroomed Victorian stone cottage is ideal for anyone seeking a relaxing break exploring the town and its local eating houses, cafes or for those seeking a more active time using it as a base to explore the mountains and rivers.
Ty Bychan (little house) has recently been upgraded to a high standard. The sitting room has a fab wood burning stove for those cosy nights in (a basket of wood is provided during the colder months).
PLEASE NOTE: The stairs to the first floor are narrow, steep and uneven (please ensure you will be able to navigate these safely before you book, if in doubt please enquire further!) Upstairs is a lovely bedroom with rustic furniture and a luxurious king size bed, and a shower room.
Outside there is a small partially covered courtyard where walking boots and wet weather gear can be stored. This area gains access via very steep, narrow steps to a shared pathway leading to the small garden with seating and BBQ. Again please note the description of the narrow step steps before booking the cottage.
Hay on Wye has many amenities including independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs and of course the plethora of book shops!. The surrounding countryside boasts an area of outstanding beauty within the Brecon Beacons National Park offering many outdoor activity opportunities such as canoeing on the River Wye, cycling on the tracks and lanes, mountain biking and walking in the Black mountains and the Brecon Beacons.
Whatever you chose; whether adrenelin fueled or relaxing Ty Bychan will provide you with a warm comfortable environment in which to enjoy stay.
We are dog friendly but due to the size of the cottage, one large dog or two small dogs are preferred, but please do discuss other options with us.
