Woodmanwray Chapel is a newly converted former chapel. Originally built in 1839, it now provides stylish and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people in a peaceful location in beautiful Nidderdale. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and downstairs there is a large open plan living area with a double sofa bed, dining area and comfortable seating. The kitchen and utility rooms are separate and well equipped. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The Chapel has been thoughtfully furnished to create a home from home whatever the time of year. It is well insulated with underfloor heating and a log burning stove, for cosy evenings whatever the weather. There is plenty of enclosed outdoor space for ball games and picnics and room to park several cars. Secure storage for bikes is available in a locked bike shed. Nidderdale is a quiet and attractive base for walking and cycling holidays, yet it is only a short car ride from Harrogate with its many amenities. Excellent food shops and restaurants are within easy reach in Pateley Bridge and there are several local pubs within a 10 minute drive.

About Alison Simpson
My name is Alison Simpson and I live with my family on a neighbouring farm. If you come to Woodmanwray Chapel you will probably meet some of our farm animals! You may well see our sheepdogs being trained and we will certainly bring you some of our eggs. We are really proud of the Chapel and hope that all of our visitors will love it as much as we do. We think you will find that Nidderdale is a great place to visit.
Alison Simpson purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Alison Simpson chose Harrogate
Its a great location as its really quiet and peaceful, yet there is lots to do just a short drive away. Harrogate with its restaurants and shops is only a 20 minute drive away and from there you can take a train to the amazing city of York. Nidderdale offers charming scenery, lots of 'foodie' shops and friendly people. There are ideas for walks and cycle rides in the cottage and for kids of all ages there are gorges to walk, rocks to climb and rivers to paddle in.
What makes this Cottage unique
Although the Chapel is completely modernised it still retains a lot of its original charm in the stained glass windows and stone sun porch.

Wonderful and beautifully converted old chapel
We had a wonderful family holiday in this delightful rural converted chapel. It was just what we needed to be away from it all with our disabled daughter who loved the sheep and goats and wildlife near by. The cottage is really nicely appointed and has everything you need to enjoy your time away. The bathrooms and kitchen are really well done out and the house has a cosy feel whilst being big enough for a whole family and not too cluttered. The small town of Pately Bridge is lovely and only a couple of miles away for when you need to shop and yet at the cottage you feel miles from anywhere. We would definitely recommend this for a great holiday stay and hopefully we will return at some point when we can.
The Chapel was lovely, so spacious, so well equipped with everything you need. Nidderdale is lovely
We had such a lovely time here - perfect location for exploring Nidderdale, lovely walking country and beautiful Yorkshire scenes right on the door step.
Perfect also for visiting Harrogate, Otley etc.

We will definitely be returning
An excellent cottage equipped with everything you need.
This was in a beautiful area and the cottage made it a lovely relaxing holiday. The weather was extremely hot and sunny and we just spent most of the time relaxing and being lazy. A very quiet area and the only people we saw were a few hot sticky walkers! We were pleased that the cottage had good lighting and we were able to read - this is something we find a problem with a lot of cottages, but not this one. Comfortable beds and we slept well all week. Excellent showers. J & M
