About Jeremy Smith
We are a family of five with one well behaved Golden Retriever called Alfie which we occasionally take for summer holidays. We visit Burnsall regularly and love the setting close to amenities but with glorious views, walks and pubs.
Jeremy Smith purchased this Barn in 2007
Why Jeremy Smith chose Burnsall
We have owned the Village Barn since Easter 2007 having fallen in love with it on a weekend visit to Burnsall. Burnsall is place that gets under your skin in Spring, Summer Autumn or Winter there is always something to see or do. The river and shingle beach next to the village green is great fun for the family. Alfie, the dog, always gets excited when we pack our things for a trip to the barn. The walking in the area is lovely and fairly easy if you stick to the river walks, becoming more challenging if you tackle the hills. The pubs serve excellent beer and food and are situated on a choice of circular walks ranging from 15 miles to 200m!!
What makes this Barn unique
The barn is located in the heart of the village and very close to the pub, shop, cafe and river walks. It is peaceful and restful with lovely views but at the same time not isolated. The wood-burner is great when you just want to snuggle up and read a book after a long ramble and pub lunch!!

A fantastic converted barn in an incredible location with all the facilities you could need. Very comfortable for 8 people to stay. The owner has been incredibly helpful answering any questions promptly. I would thoroughly recommend staying.
A beautiful spot
Overall excellent. One or two minor quibbles; freezer hopeless, completely iced up and did not close properly. A soap rack needed in first bathroom, initial difficulty in setting up WiFi and tv but after talking to manager, was told about plug behind sofa. There was no info !
about this. Apart from this, a lovely stay
Brilliant views of river
Was great location nice walks and not far in car to other places
The Barn Burnsall Stay
The property and location were idyllic, perfect for that get away from it all. Couple of tiny comments for improvement. Provide waste bins for all bedrooms and mirrors for each room. Wardrobe space was non existent in 2 of the rooms so we had to share the wardrobes which wasn't ideal but for the short stay we managed. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed out stay.
A fabulous house in an equally fab location.
I wouldn't hesitate to visit here again. Skipton is only a 25 minute drive away. The Black Horse have some great meal deals.
Stunning location, comfy cottage
A lovely well equipped cottage for a big family stay. The comfiest bed I’ve ever slept in, nice log burners, well equipped kitchen and squashy sofa - all appreciated after hill climbs and scrambles. I recommend the Craven Arms at Appletreewick- short walk along road or river but food more reasonable than the Red Lion . That said we did eat there twice and loved it! Thanks Jeremy and family; a lovely home from home.
