Why J W Rogers chose Whitby
I've been coming to Whitby for over 50 years and always wanted a bolthole here, so when we saw that this flat with possibly the best location and view in Whitby was for sale we knew we had to have it!
What makes this Apartment unique
Best fish and chips in the world at the Magpie café according to Rick Stein - and us! Crabbing! The seaside! The steam train ride over the moors! Whitby's charm both old and new - the shops, the abbey, the museum, Dracula! Whitby has it all!

Central location with a fantastic terrace to watch the world go by. 5 minutes walk from the beach and lots of lovely places to eat, on a weekend book in advance. We ate fish and chips on the beach Saturday evening with a glass of fizz while the kids paddled in the sea, family memories to treasure. We walked along the coast to sandsend a day and had toasties and tea in a gorgeous cafe overlooking the sea then hopped on a bus back to Whitby as the tide was in.
Accommodation was clean and basic it serviced our needs we were 2 adults 2 children. Kitchen was well equipped, sharp knives grater etc. Bathroom was clean only one loo roll supplied. If I’m being picky a new shower curtain wouldn’t go amiss. The living space is cosy we snuggled up on the sofa to watch a film very happily.
The terrace area makes this property a gem though sadly barbecues not allowed as some idiot lit a throwaway barbecue on the wood decking!
There is no designated parking so we unloaded on double yellows then parked a 10 minute walk away off street free parking. There are two flights of steep stairs to the accommodation fine for us but would not suit everyone.
We had a lovely time and would recommend this property and would look to book again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful family break.
Great value in a great location
