Why Keith Walby chose Chipping Campden
The Cotswolds and Shakespeare Country meet at the village of Mickleton, immediately beneath the Cotswold escarpment and overlooked by the infamous Meon Hill. It is therefore perfectly situated, with Chipping Campden only 3 miles away to the south and Stratford upon Avon only 10 miles to the north. Mickleton is the most northerly of the Cotswold villages containing a mixture of attractive Cotswold stone houses and cottages, thatch and half-timber buildings, and the Norman St Lawrence’s Church, dating from the 12th century. The village is home to "The Pudding Club" at the Three Ways House Hotel (featured in many TV shows). Membership is not required so it is easy to sample their wonderful desserts only a few steps from the cottage.
What makes this Cottage unique
As well as the hotel Mickleton has 2 pubs (The Kings Arms and The Butchers Arms), a well-stocked village shop (mini supermarket) plus a post office, a butcher and several farm shops for fresh local vegetables and other produce, including local artisan bread. There are plenty of walks in the area, including a picturesque 30 minute up-hill walk via a footpath from the village church to Kiftsgate Gardens, with the National Trusts’ world renowned Hidcote Manor Gardens a couple of hundred yards beyond. If you enjoy cycling there is a traffic free cycle path to Stratford–upon-Avon via 'The Greenway' and numerous quiet lanes to explore. With Stratford upon Avon so close, why not enjoy an evening at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre?

Cotswold holiday 15 June 2019
This property was excellent. Very clean and well equipped with comfortable seating and beds. The towels provided were superb especially the bath sheets which were enormous compared to some other places. The situation was ideal for both Hidcote and Kifsgate gadens together with various towns and villages in the area. The Fleece Inn at Bretforton is well worth a visit, booking in the evening advisable.
A beautiful, clean well appointed cottage.
A Thoroughly Enjoyable Visit
Ostlers is a delightfully cosy cottage in a beautiful part of England. We found it to be a fabulous location for our three days break in the Cotswolds. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and very well equipped - with everything of a particularly high quality and working perfectly.
With highly convenient parking for two cars in the spacious courtyard adjacent to the cottage, It’s situated in the heart of Mickleton. This makes for a pleasant drive to several gastro-pubs in the general area, where we enjoyed some superb meals in delightful surroundings.
Our entire stay was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
What a gem, tucked away in a quiet row of beautiful cottages , very cosy and extremley comfotable with every thing you need for your stay. Thoughtful welcome gifts too
Wonderful cottage, lovely owners
Ostlers Cottage is a lovely little bolthole in the village of Mickleton. Has all mod cons, is cosy, quiet and secluded but provides a perfect location for visiting the Cotswolds. Minutes from the local supermarket and two lovely pubs, we found it a great place to stay.
The owners, Keith and Jacquie, were absolutely delightful and extremely helpful. All instructions were clear and they were on hand when we had any questions. The cakes they baked were a lovely added extra. Highly recommended, don't think twice just go! :-)
Charming tranquil cottage on the edge of the Cotswolds in Mickleton
Ostlers Cottage is even more charming in the flesh than in the photos..a hidden gem. The small cottage is very well equipped, log burner ready to be lit, wine in the fridge and cup cakes ready to welcome you. It is beautifull decorated and has a calming peacefulness about it. We stayed for two nights with our black lab and explored the area easily. With long walks from Chipping Camden to the Broadway tower, lovely pub lunches in Stow - on - the -Wold and Burford . Would happily return and would recommend it to anyone wanting to explore the area.
