About Penny McClure
Since we started renting out our gîtes in 2009 we have aimed to provide well equipped and comfortable holiday homes that we also enjoy staying in ourselves. Our rentals are well maintained, personally managed and comprehensively equipped to a very high standard. We are delighted that many of our guests make return visits and regard this as an ongoing measure of success.
Penny McClure purchased this House in 2008
Why Penny McClure chose Plémet
Le Camus, our holiday home in Brittany, is in a truly tranquil location, ideal for barbecues, relaxing with a book and a drink, watching the bird life, sketching the scenery, strolling along country lanes or fishing beside the nearby river. The central Breton 'crossroads' town of Loudeac is just 10 minutes drive away with its direct access to the major routes crossing the region making any destination easily accessible for exploring other parts of Brittany.
What makes this House unique
This is a lovely spot for a holiday, in a friendly rural area that makes it just so easy to relax and forget all the pressures of everyday life. Le Camus is somewhere we look forward to holidaying ourselves; the property is managed locally by our immediate family who live permanently in the area, and are close enough to answer any queries you may have to help you make the most of your stay in this beautiful and friendly region of Brittany.

Very comfortable home from home
A lovely cottage with everything we needed. Penny was very helpful and we spent an enjoyable few days in the area.
Beautiful house in the Breton countryside
We spent a lovely seven days at Le Grand Camus. Everything we could need was provided, including kitchen appliances, lovely comfy beds, plenty of hot water, heated towel racks (!) and stunning views. Le Camus is incredibly homely, clean and comfortable, and is a five-minute drive away from the nearest village. It's about an hour's drive to other local market and historic towns, and 50 minutes to the beach.
The house is bordered by a beautiful wood, and green fields stretch into the distance. It's very peaceful and a welcome break from London. Can't fault it in any way. Would absolutely recommend and hope to return!
Everything You Imagined And More
Stayed at Le Grand Camus the first full week in September the weather was glorious as was the gite.
Exceptionally well turned out, and pristine without being so fancy that you were frightened to put a mug/glass down.
Lovely comfortable beds and good sized sofas for an afternoon nap in the heat.
Well equipped bathrooms: 2 ensuite and one across the corridor with large showers, and the master bedroom had an enormous bath as well. Even equipped with hairdryers.
Kitchen also well equipped, and the gite had the benefit of wi-fi and some British channels.
Large plot of land at the back with plenty of outdoor seating plus barbecue.
Rural yet only a short drive to shops/ restaurants.
What made it perfect however was the utter peace and quiet, haven't been that relaxed in a long time.
Would recommend Le Camus to anyone, many thanks especially to Penny who made us most welcome.
So glad you enjoyed your stay at Le Grand Camus and found both the location and the house relaxing.
