About F Miller
After moving to Aberporth and Parc Llwyd in 2000 I am still being astounded by the beauty of the area. Being able to see visitors discovering the countryside and enjoy themselves is very rewarding. Parc Llwyd itself is a splendid place to live with a lot of wildlife on site.
F Miller purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why F Miller chose Aberporth
Moving to Aberporth has given me the advantages of rural tranquility, seaside benefits, glorious countryside and a range of interesting towns within a 35 mile radius. Ceredigion is providing more facilities for visitors including more access to coast paths and walks. I have made good friends here and found a wide range of activities and opportunities for volunteering in the local community.
What makes this Cottage unique
Parc Llwyd is peaceful while being within 10 mins walk from beaches and local shops. It is set away from traffic being approached via its own drive. Barn Cottage is spacious and on one level making it convenient for guests with special mobility requirements. Parking is at the door.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
A Perfect Holiday Cottage
The cottage is in a perfect spot a short walk to Aberporth but in a peaceful rural location with lovely views of fields and countryside. Absolutely no traffic noise. The cottage is extremely comfortable with excellent heating, hot water and comfortable beds. The style of furnishing is retro but everything works well and the kitchen oven, micro etc is simple to use. Everything you need is provided for a comfortable stay. The television has only the basic channels and there is no Wi-fi but who goes on holiday to Wales and wants to watch lots of telly and a break from lap tops etc is refreshing. We had excellent BT reception on our phones at the cottage and all round the area for when we wanted it. Frances is on hand should it be necessary to contact her, in our case it was only to thank for such a lovely September break. We would definitely stay again.
Very relaxing holiday
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Barn Cottage. The bungalow has everything you need and a lovely garden with a picnic bench & plenty of room to follow the sun into the evening. Frances & Angela made us most welcome - Thankyou both. The beach/village is an easy 10 minute walk. We’re planning a longer stay next time!
It's so good to know that visitors enjoyed their stay and found Barn cottage such a relaxing and comfortable place. Look forward to seeing these guests again!
The perfect hideaway
I thought the cottage was lovely. Very well equipped and quiet. No one over-looking you, just beauty all around. Close to Aberporth beach and surrounding walks. Well equipped, clean, and a really good 'feel' about the place. I could have lived there for ever! My early years were spent in Aberporth and my family and I visit every year, to get back to our roots. Only heard about this cottage earlier this year and it will now be a MUST for future visits.
Always great to know that guests enjoyed their stay and had a good time! They were lovely, friendly people and we hope to see them again.
Peaceful, cosy cottage with plenty of room, set in lovely countryside
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. Lovely setting, close to the beach and with many nice walks in the immediate countryside. The owner was very helpful and hospitable and made sure everything was okay during our stay.
Good to know that these guests had a great time, they were a pleasure to have staying here.
Location Great - Property Disappointing and Overpriced
Beautiful location in the heart of the Welsh countryside. In all honesty, the property itself was ok, however very dated (which isn't SO bad), but it wasn't that helpful when the oven only had one temperature. It was the same make of cooker my mum had 40+ years ago! I felt the kitchen on the whole wasn't that well equipped with basic needs, eg measuring jug, a whisk.
One of the main reasons I booked this property was because it had a TV, we love to just relax in the evenings on holiday; unfortunately we couldn't watch it as it wasn't receiving the SKY signal. We then decided to watch a video (there were 3 supplied in the property), but the VHS player wouldn't work. The owner said it hadn't worked for ages, and she "really must get rid of it."
I only had WiFi on my phone, however to be fair I don't think WiFi was listed as a facility.
We were going to rent towels because they weren't supplied, (we didn't realise this until we were almost there), but at £15 per person(!) we bought a couple from Tesco.
On a positive, the property was clean and the furniture quite comfortable. Plenty of hot water, and heating if we needed it. Couple of jigsaw puzzles and a Scrabble game, if you like that sort of thing.
Me and my husband had a lovely time in Wales aside from our disappointment with the property. It's a lovely location and lots of places to visit.
We always welcome guests on arrival, explain heating, rubbish collection etc and say they should contact us if there are any queries or problems either by mobile or popping round to our house. This is why we are sorry that these visitors didn't let us know about the problems while they were here as they would have been dealt with at once. VHS and Wifi are not offered. There is a small library of books plus loads of local info on places to visit etc as well as jigsaws, Scrabble and Monopoly. As for other aspects of their complaint, a look at the other reviews will reflect the views of previous guests and whether the cottage gives value for money.
Beautiful quiet location, with every thing you may need.
We had a fabulous week there, it was so peaceful. The property was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
It's very rewarding to know that guests had such a good time and enjoyed staying at Parc Llwyd. They were perfect visitors too.
