|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
This lovely property consists of 2 independent houses (a 3 bed/3 bath and a 2 bed/2 bath, each with lounge and kitchen), set in a large garden fully enclosed with lots of mature trees, palms, a great lawn to play on and a large pool, situated in the idyllic countryside between Pollensa town and Puerto Pollensa. A favourite with cyclists and extended family groups, but also a special treat for couples or smaller groups who like their space.
The main lounge has a large screen TV, satellite and DVD and opens onto the garden and terrace. The main kitchen opens onto the BBQ area which is a wonderful spot to gather in the evenings under the bourgainvillia. The smaller house has a private terrace and has been structured for wheelchair use with wider doors and ramps. The ceilings are high and beamed and the furniture is solid teak.
The garden is spacious and mature giving welcome shade while the pool is always in the sun and has a large paved area with 10 sun loungers. All is completely enclosed and private with lots of room to park several cars, set on a quiet and recently repaved road good for cycling. It is a 5 minute drive into Pollensa with it's great dining and an equally short drive to the many beautiful beaches.
Free Wi-Fi internet connection is available. NEW 2017 ! Air-conditioning in the 5 rooms.
Hi, I'm a kiwi who lived 15 years in Pollensa owning and running restaurants in Pollensa town. I now holiday let my property as I divide my time between New Zealand and Europe.
This is a wonderful family holiday property because it has loads of space for everyone, caters for the disabled, is fully enclosed for the youngsters and has no stairs for the oldies. Everyone loves it, particularly large groups but also just couples who love the peace and quiet.
We had a great time here and are definitely considering going back! Having a disabled father and a 17 month old, the villa was perfect! Having 2 separate living accommodation was ideal for privacy and we loved the BBQ entertaining area. The space is perfect we did not need to leave the villa much at all. Although a drive from the town, everything we needed was in the villa so didn't need to venture far. The pool was perfect and just across the lawn making it ideal for us to let our little one explore. I would highly recommend. Thanks x
We had a really lovely time at Sonya's place in Majorca. The properties were very well presented, the grounds were lovely and the pool was clean and welcoming! The facilities in the properties were great. Lovely living area, kitchen, bedrooms, shower rooms.
Our only complaints would be that the bedrooms in the main house could do with having the beds/mattresses replaced with something a little less rigid. We ended up moving into the smaller property after two days to get a better sleep at night.
We knew there would be no air conditioning but didn't appreciate just how much we would need it in September!
And finally, we didn't moan about this to Sonya at the time (as we didn't moan about anything actually!), but there is a definite ant problem in the main property. So much so that when we left three empty plates after a snack of proscuitto & melon on the side for 15 minutes, we returned to hundreds of ants all over the plates. The ants were plentiful and active! Leftover food has to be taken out of the house immediately then taken to the bins up the road as soon as possible. They even got into the drawers!
If these problems are resolved we would absolutely love to return for another stay. You have a gorgeous place Sonya!
A lovely property, with everything you need . The Pool area is lovely and spacious, the facilities are wonderful. There is no air conditioning, only fans so may be too hot in the high heat of summer.
The pictures online do not do this well maintained property justice. A family of 10 including 2 nearly 60 year old's, our three sons, their partners & 2 four year old grandsons; we stayed for just a week, we wish it could've been longer. We couldn't believe our luck when we opened the electric gates & drove up to the main villa (we have had mixed experiences in the past). There was plenty of room inside & out for the kids to stretch their legs & for the rest of us to just relax; the pool in particular was well used by us all. Whilst we ate out several times we enjoyed most of our meals at the Villa around the more than adequate table outside the main property, next to the stone built BBQ. The owner Sonya, was lovely to deal with and made the booking process so straightforward; she was also very informative about local shops etc. The property is only ten minutes from two supermarkets opposite each other just north of Pollenca & another five minutes or so from the beach at Port de Pollenca. Travelling south-east from there, ten minutes further along the coast road, you will find Alcudia where in the historic old town you can explore the criss-cross of narrow streets, checking out the shops & lovely restaurants. We visited Mallorca many times in the 80's & 90's & this must rate as one of the best holidays we've had there. I would definitely recommend this property to others.
We booked this villa the day before we arrived in Mallorca. Given the timeframe, Sonya was incredibly helpful and accommodating, answering all of our questions (was there a cot for our son - which there was - could she organise a taxi from the airport for us - which she did) swiftly and helping us to prepare before we flew from London.
The villa itself is lovely. It's in a rural location close to Pollenca, Port de Pollenca and Alcudia and the many beaches along the coastline. There are two houses, each with self-contained facilities. One house has two bedrooms and the other three, and there are enough bathrooms. Towels were provided, and the kitchen was amply supplied with everything we could need. It is fully self-catering, so you need to buy salt, pepper, oil etc for cooking, although there may be a few bits and pieces left over from previous occupiers.
The outside space is great - the pool is large and has a good amount of space for relaxing in the sun, with 10 comfortable loungers. There is a large garden, much of which is lawn, allowing kids to run around. A small out-building contains a smattering of toys which can be used in the pool and on the grass. Outside the larger house there is a large veranda with outside table and chairs and a bbq, and we ate all of our meals there.
Access to the villa is through a remote-controlled electric gate opening onto a short driveway, and there is plenty to space to parks a few cars.
Overall, we had a brilliant holiday in a lovely part of the world, which was hugely complemented by this comfortable villa. Holidays with a 2 and 3 year old are not always the most relaxing of times, but we found this to be a great place to relax and have returned home fully refreshed. We hope to come again soon. Thanks Sonya!
We spend a week with our great family from Germany in Sonyas house.
It is very clean and nice, beautifull furnished well maintained facility and lot of space for everyone, perfectly for a big family with our grandma.
For any questions Sonya had quickly an answer for us,The customer service was very good. The big garden with lots of trees, a very clean pool and a nice places to rest and read ,play table tennis or just relax in the sun.
The barbecue grill was fantastic, we had some nice fresh fish.Everything you needed was there, The only thing missing for us, who were cooking a lot, was kitchen appliances as a wisk or a mixer, the knifes were not sharp and there were few bowls for salat. Everything else was just perfect!! We would like to come again.
brilliant location- close to Pollensa and Peurto Pollensa, wonderful villa fantastic facilities and with flexibility of second villa in grounds offering independence of generations / friends - brilliant open space for getting together either by the pool, on the roof terrace or around the BBQ. no air conditioning but plenty of fans to keep the 38 degrees at bay !! Really memorable week... Thank you x x x
'Can Carube' is located in the quiet countryside between the Port of Pollensa and the charming old town Pollensa, one of the most beautiful and traditional cities in north Mallorca. Breakfast in one of the many cafes, shop in lovely boutiques or jewellery stores, visit the art galleries & museums and try the wonderful restaurants, maybe unwind from a busy day on the beach in the picturesque market square with a glass of wine. The market fills Pollensa with colour and life on Sunday mornings and in the Port on Wednesdays. The harbour Puerto de Pollensa is ideal for walking with its beach promenade surrounded by pines and the lovely marina from which you can take a ferry to the stunning Formentor beach. The beach of Puerto is calm and shallow, perfect for children and water sports, of which there is a large choice. Cala San Vicente is another gorgeous bay, the jewel of Pollensa, beautifully located in the Tramuntana mountain chain, stunning mountains backdropping the turquoise water.
