Nice stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a really good time here, the flat was well equipped & in a great location (5 mins walk from train station & 7-8 mins from town centre). The balcony has lovely views & we eat in most evenings to save some money (we are used to holidaying in Spain & Greece, & Collioure/ France is a lot more expensive to eat out) & also because we had a 2 year old with us & wanted to chill without fear of disturbing others! Having said that we really enjoyed our evenings in on the balcony, then went out for ice cream/beer by the old town. Despite being so close to amenities the area was really quiet, peaceful & relaxing, & we would definitely recommend this apartment to others wanting to visit this lovely part of the world.

Comfortable apartment, good location and great view!

  • 4 of 5

Lovely, comfortable apartment which lives up to the photos shown. The balcony was very spacious and the view was beautiful. The apartment was very clean and well equiped with everything you could possibly need. The location was great, only about 5 minutes walk from the centre of Collioure and its beautiful cobbled streets, restaurants and arts and crafts shops. We enjoyed our evenings on the balcony in the peace and quiet and slept very well in the comfy beds (the fans in the bedroom were a godsend as it was very hot). The only reason we are not giving 5 stars is that the bathroom (shower), while functional, could do with updating. All in all, we had a great time and would certainly recommend this apartment and would be very happy to return!

Collioure 2016 at Les Rocades 501E

  • 5 of 5

Our second year at 501E and can currently see no reason from our side why there won't be a third. The apartment is a lovely size for the 2 of us (it has 2 bedrooms and would be perfectly OK for 4) and has all the amenities we need (not least electric kettle, tea pots, hob & oven, microwave and toaster) for a happy holiday, as well as great views, and easy access to the town for restaurants, shops and of course Les Templiers where an early evening libation always goes down well.

We would have no hesitation recommending this apartment; the website description "says it like it is"!

lovely holidays(3weeks)

  • 5 of 5

a big thank you for a wonderful time spent in your cozy apartment, very well equipped and close to downtown and beaches. We enjoyed your beautiful terrace with large beds and where we could enjoy our barbecues. Beautiful colorful village, picturesque, with its superb pedestrian streets lined with shops and art galleries. Also thank you to Gavin for its friendly hospitality and kindness.

Excellent; all the facilities we could need.

  • 5 of 5

Thanks for allowing us to enjoy Collioure and apartment 501E during our early June stay just passed.

The apartment turned out to be our favourite tried in Les Rocades (of 6 or 7 we have stayed in previously)– we have no need to look further; fabulous view, super balcony, table, chairs and recliners and all the facilities we needed. We normally travel end May/early June to the Collioure area for 1 to 2 weeks - what a pleasure for us to find an apartment fully “british” ready (kettle, teapots and mugs being the “topliners”) as well as all the Mediterranean delights we love in and of the area. (We returned to UK with our travel kettle and teapot etc untouched – first time since we committed to their purchase many years back!)

Gavin met us at the front door (at our request), and after brief introductions had established our “front door key” and Collioure knowledge, left us to our own devices – perfect. A dash to Les Templiers where we were hosted to our first "dentures" of the holiday (we have just the two drinks there most evenings between 6 and 7), and then settled in to a well-established and enjoyable routine over the following week or so, wall to wall sun throughout the holiday being one of the highlights for this year.

We look forward to contacting you in the future regarding repeating our best Collioure experience to date.

Car: not necessary

Collioure is a picturesque, historic Catalan town. Just 26 km from the Spanish border, it enjoys the warmest and sunniest climate in France, protected by its stunning backdrop of the foothills of the Pyrenees. Visit the ancient castle with its colossal sea defences, and the church with its impressive interior and iconic tower. Browse its quaint cobbled streets, artists' studios, shops and twice-weekly market. Pause at a pavement cafe and dine in top-class restaurants. Tour the caves and sample the local wines. Enjoy a swim from one of the several small beaches, each with its own character. Sail down the coast to Spain, or marvel at life beneath the waves from a glass-bottomed boat. Take a ten-minute boat ride to Argeles, with its chic port and miles of sandy beaches. Visit nearby Elne, where Hannibal rested his elephants, or neighbouring Port Vendres with its working deep-water harbour and fish market. Thrill to the sight of the Cathar castles, and visit if you dare!
