Casa Barco (The Ship House) is situated in a quiet road in the village of Rincon de la Victoria, just 18km from the city of Malaga. Built in 2013, the 4 double rooms and 1 twin are beautifully furnished with 5 ensuite bathrooms. The house has spectacular sea views, which can be enjoyed from all over the house and garden, and a saline freshwater infinity pool. Extensive garden includes areas shaded by pine trees, a gazebo with barbeque area and a trampoline. Steps down to two local beaches and towns. Supermarket 5 minutes drive. We are a British / Spanish couple living in Madrid, who finally managed to build the house of our dreams.

Why Monica Lozano chose Malaga City

We fell in love with the plot of land 13 years ago, and it took 10 years and an economic crisis to convince the owner to sell it to us and to build the house. There simply isn't any other property with these views in the coast, we regularly see dolphins jumping in front of the house! (video on request). We use the house ourselves but would love for others to be able to enjoy it as well. It is also very conveniently located for shops and supermarkets, as well as the beach. We can provide tips on activities, restaurants, etc in the area, and recommend guests visit the city of Malaga, which has gone through a major refurbishment and is now a vibrant city with plenty of cafes and restaurants. Day trips to historical sites such as Granada, Ronda and Sevilla are feasible and there are bike tracks and golf courses nearby.

What makes this property unique is the calm of living right in front of the sea with 180 degree views. We have furnished the house as our home and the garden offers multiple spaces to enjoy the views and just relax and unwind. It is always painful to leave!

We can prepare basic food for your arrival and limited catering on specific nights during your stay. In house catering is available from English chef living nearby by private arrangement (contact details available when you book). Utility Room: Washing machine. Separate drier. Iron and ironing board. Sink. Outside space for clothes hanging / drying Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. It is also possible to arrange for the shopping to be done prior arrival. Pool towels available. Other: Sheltered patio area on inland side of house with table and chairs for al fresco eating. Wifi throughout the house. We have one travel cot for babies. Ceiling fans in each room Aircondinioting available at extra cost based on electricity consumed.

Fantastic family holiday

We stayed for 9 days in August this year. It was a once in a lifetime family holiday. The house and grounds are absolutely stunning, as was the weather. It was super hot whilst we were there - up to about 40•C.

Monica couldn't have been more helpful before and during our stay.

Our only negative comment is the 'smart home' system wasn't so smart and therefore it was not always easy to put the lights/ fans/ aircon on (tricky when it was so hot!) . It also felt quite 'big brother' as the owners can see when you are turning things on and off etc. There are also CCTV cameras so we had a running joke we were being watched the whole time. We are sure the owners have better things to do with their time.

All in all a great family holiday in and absolutely beautiful villa.

Owner's Response: I can assure you that I do have indeed better things to do than monitor 6 garden video cameras (there are none inside the house and the outside are for security, linked to the alarm system) or monitor what is on or off in the house. Some of the lighting in the house runs on schedules, which what may have given the wrong impression, it is all to be energy efficient.

Amazing house, stunning views

Casa Barco is an amazing house, we felt very comfortable as soon as we arrived.

The views take your breath away (even more stunning than the photos), wherever you stand around the villa either inside or out, you are totally blown away.

We loved that fact that there are many areas to chill out either shaded or sunny and lots of dining areas for different times of the day.

The house is furnished tastefully and to a really high standard, you cannot help but feel at home with the surroundings. You can tell that a lot of love and care has gone into making this villa a very special unique place.

The swimming pool is amazing and the temperature was perfect. We felt it was the best and most interesting pool we had ever experienced at a villa. We spent most of the holiday in and around it.

In fact we hardly left the villa all holiday, as we loved it so much.

Casa Barco had everything we needed and more, we really didn't want to leave!

We visited the two local beaches which were lovely, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. We also visited Frigiliana which was stunning and only 30 minutes drive away.

Thank you Monica and family for making our 10 days perfect!

An extrordinary view in an extraordinary house

What a view!!...more than 180 ° on the extraordinary Mediterranean Sea.

But also, what a house !!

A lot of places too chose for resting, inside and outside, for every instant of the day.

Materials are high quality and very nice : exactly as we like (we live in a very modern loft in Paris).

Very well chosen pieces of furniture everywhere in the house. (probably coming from Bali, as a lot of art pieces).

Can you imagine a table on a terrace sheltered from the sun almost all day long, next to the kitchen, and with a magnificent view on the pool, the garden and the sea, which can seat 20 persons and we were only 3 couples.

The rooms (5) are very comfortable and big, all with bathrooms, and the ones on first floor, with a terrace giving some more views on the sea.

A kitchen with all what is needed to cook and we used it a lot.

Finally, the garden and the swimming pool…

The pool is splendid, with its taupe paving which favors the temperature of the water.

We were there at the beginning of June, and the pool temperature was 28 ° at least, while the sea, was only 21 or 22 °. .

Malaga is very close: a lot of very nice pedestrian streets, as a lot of city in France should have it, and two splendid museums : Picasso museum and an annex of the Centre Pompidou.. And of course, don't forget to visit Grenada and the Alhambra, it's only 90' drive.

The house is all automatic (lights shelters and music) and is also manageable on Internet, and if you don’t know how to open or close all the shelters at once.. Monica can do it from outside…

Yes, we recommend this house, and will love to come again.

Beautiful villa

We were ten adults celebrating birthdays and wedding anniversaries. The villa was lovely with scenic views and relaxing pool. Also had several different seating areas so you could easily keep out of wind or sun if wished. Nice gardens and good access to local amenities. Public transport to Malaga easy to use and very reasonable. Beach side restaurants with good menus.

Overwhelming - you just have to be there

We were there, all three generations (13 altogether), to celebrate grandma’s 70th. Casa Barca was perfect with all facilities and views you can ever dream about – great house, lovely and spacious garden with a barbeque dining area, the great pool perfect for all ages and not to forget the sandy beaches just a few minutes’ walk away from the house.

We rented bikes in Ricon de la Victoria for local sightseeing and shopping and enjoyed the short bus ride to Malaga for added cultural events and sights.

Better than the pictures - a genuinely amazing vil

A truly stunning villa. Amazing views, stunning pool area and beautiful furnishings. Only a short hop to great restaurants (tried all the recommendations and all were great). Would equally recommend staying in and enjoying one of the best views in Malaga. Rare that you rent a place that turns out to be better than the pictures.

5 minute walk (via steps) to Cala del Moral beachfront and 10 minutes walk (via steps) to Rincon de la Victoria beachfront. Both beaches have bars and restaurants. Both sandy beaches with sunbeds available in high season.


Nearest Airport: Malaga (AGP), 28km - 20 minutes by car


The house is situated between two towns, with Rincon de la Victoria the largest, a 10 minutes walk away (or 2 minutes in car). Malaga is 20 minutes away by car, and there you can visit the Picasso Museum, Pompidou Centre, the old town, the port and new marina and water front, the cathedral, bull fighting ring, etc. The motorway between Malaga and Motril is 1km away and Nerja/Frigiliana 30 minutes drive.

Further Details:

There are some beautiful Andalusian villages like Benagalbon just 15 minutes from the house. Shopping mall with Carrefour and cinemas is about 8 minutes drive. Nearest supermarket is Mercadona in Rincon de la Victoria, 2 minutes in the car or 10 minutes walk downhill (15 minutes back!).
