Cosy, 2 bedroom cottage in Broad Haven, 300 steps from sandy, Blue Flag beach.
About Clive Anstey
We are a busy family of 5 - 3 growing boys, 2 full time jobs and 1 daft cat who thinks she's a person. Life is never quiet so being able to spend time in Pembrokeshire - a place of peace which feeds the soul - is a true and rich blessing. Broad Haven is a wonderfully welcoming village community making it the perfect spot for time away from it all. So, when some of our family members began to relocate to Pembrokeshire we decided it was high time we found our own base to stay in when visiting. Sharing our holiday home with others has been a really source of joy. We love that many guests return year after year and have fallen in love with this wonderful county as we have done.
Clive Anstey purchased this House in 2006
Why Clive Anstey chose Haroldston West
With a tight budget to work within we were delighted to find a sad and run down little house in Broad Haven in much need of serious TLC. Since then it has been completely renovated both inside and out. The National Park Authority specifies the colours that the houses in our area should be. Our colour scheme led us to christen the house Gorse Cottage - a name that suits it perfectly. The house is now a much loved base, not just of us but for our many regular guests. The open plan living space expands to accommodate all our needs and the pleasure of drifting off to sleep on the super comfortable beds to the sound of the sea never dwindles.
What makes this House unique
The only difficulty we ever have is deciding whose turn it is to sit in the window seat with a drink and a book! The short stroll to the Blue Flag beach means that you can pop back and forth with ease and the village amenities are just around the corner. Over time we have built up our own set of favourite days out in the area and have written a guide book for guests to use - ideas for sunny and not so sunny days included! Ample parking and flat access into the house make it suitable for all ages - and unpacking. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen.

An excellent week only ruined by HomeAway
The place and location are superb and I would thoroughly recommend a visit however a complete lack of communication from HomeAway meant we had no idea how to get into the property. If the owner hadn't been available on the phone it would have been a long trip home. I hope he gets some credit from them.
Thanks for the review. I always make sure that I am available to provide information if communications with Homeaway are difficult
Glad you enjoyed the holiday.
Clean and very comfortable cottage
Absolutely lovely place to stay. Very warm and comfortable, clean and well equipped.
Two minute walk to beach.
Choice of three pubs for food in Little Haven (5 minute drive), thoroughly recommend The St Brides Inn.
Excellent response from owner.
Would definitely stay again.
Delightful cottage, close to wonderful beach
I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of accommodation at this property. Well equipped, warm, comfortable. Just 2 minutes from fabulous Broadhaven beach and well stocked local shop. I will certainly be back.
Lovely Little Cottage
Fantastic location with sea views. Lovely cottage with everything you need. Great owners. Would definitely recommend & book again.
Special interest holidays:
Pembrokeshire is a stunningly beautiful county, unspoilt but with lots to see and do.
From Broad Haven you can access the 186 mile long coastal path, reach the north and south coastline and the many fantastic beaches, visit castles, galleries, nature reserves and islands, learn to surf or coasteer or visit the fun parks and National Trust sites with ease.
Our 'favourite days out' guide can be found in the cottage to help you make the most of your stay.
300 paces takes you from the front door of the cottage to the sandy, Blue Flag beach of Broad Haven. In the village there are small shops including a mini market, a surf shop as well as a pub, bar and cafes and restaurants. Neighbouring Little Haven can be reached across the 1.5 mile beach at low tide to enjoy the 3 wonderful pubs, a cafe and the fresh lobster and crab deli selling the local catch.
Broad Haven is well placed for visits around the county and Haverfordwest shops and supermarkets are a 10 minute drive away.
