About Antony Jones
We live in Wales and work in Cardiff but have been coming down to West Wales at holiday time for many years - staying regularly in the nearby Patch Caravan Site. We try to stay at Golygfa Deg, with our three children and golden retriever Jessie, as often as we can because we love spending family time together in such a beautiful part of the world. Its where we can really relax!!! We hope you like our pages...
Antony Jones purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Antony Jones chose Gwbert
We love this area for lots of reasons - there are numerous local beaches which are just fantastic with beautiful clear water and great surfing too. We love the variety of wildlife too and have rarely stayed here without seeing the famous bottle nose dolphins from on the beach at Mwnt or while we are walking our dog around the coastal path. For us Gwbert is only a short drive away but when we are there it feels like a real get away from our hectic day to day lives at work and school. It is a magical place for us with so many fond holiday memories....
What makes this Cottage unique
Our cottage is so convenient for the beaches and the local town of Cardigan. Plus the nearby golf course, the coastal path, boat club and two great eateries are within walking distance of the front door. The best bit is the ability to sit on the patio deck at the end of a fun-filled day with a glass of wine and watch the sun set into Cardigan Bay - just bliss!

Lovely late summer retreat
Overall, a very enjoyable stay at Golygfa Deg. Well laid out accommodation making our stay very comfortable.
Paradise regained
This property is clean, well stocked with equipment and very comfortable.
We enjoyed peace and quiet the whole stay.
If that wasn't enough, the views over the sea and estuary were stunning.
We saw dolphins in Aberporth Bay and migrating geese, literally taking off up the estuary.
Property manager Anthony is very helpful and knows how to create a home from home.
Thank you for a wonderful holiday
Just as good as it looks
A very special place. You can do nothing but watch the world go by from the decking or be busy everyday day finding the best beaches, spotting the wildlife or visiting the attractions. So glad we spent our week in Gwbert and would recommend it to anyone.
Spacious property with amazing views
The views were stunning, the property was well equipped and spacious. The kids loved the games room. We had a great family holiday here. Thanks!
Perfect for a family holiday. Fantastic property.
This is a beautiful property which is very well equipped. There were 6 in our party - We stayed for a week with our 4 children and the stay was very comfortable. The property has incredible views across the bay where we were fortunate to spot dolphins. We visited several local beaches which were all clean and offered great swimming and bodyboarding opportunities. We ate in some evenings, making use of the lovely kitchen which is really well presented and fully equipped with everything you would ever need. We ate out at two local restaurants (the flat rock and carreg at the cliff). When staying with a family having a washing machine and dishwasher on site was very good. The games room was also a hit with the children. Couldn't fault the property at all, exactly as described on the listing and communication with the owner was prompt and helpful.
Fantastic view
Fantastic view great location. Wonderful accomodation.
Location
Special interest holidays:
Gwbert is the perfect destination for walking holidays - several ideas for route options are provided on our website [www.golygfadeg.co.uk]
Coast/Beach:
The Wales Coast Path runs alongside the cottage and a 10 minute walk brings you to a small sandy cove, just past the Cliff Hotel, where you can enjoy a dip or a beach barbecue.
Another beach that we recommend for swimming is Mwnt, which is less than 10 minutes by car and offers parking at the top of the beach in a National Trust car park.
Travel:
Cardigan is less than two hours by car from Cardiff, which has the nearest international airport (a local airport at Withybush is 40 minutes away). The Fishguard car ferry with links to Ireland is around 30 minutes drive while the nearest mainline train station at Carmarthen is about 40 minutes drive. We would say that the use of a car is essential to get the most from your stay at Golygfa Deg.
Distances:
Cardigan town - 3 miles
Mwnt beach - 3.5 miles
Newport (Pembs) - 15miles
New Quay - 20 miles
Aberaeron - 25 miles
Narberth (Oakwood Park, Folly Farm) - 30 miles
Further Details:
Cardigan town is less than five minutes drive away, providing access to a choice of cafes, restaurants and shops. Tesco and Aldi have supermarkets on the Gwbert-side of town and most high street banks also have branches here. Outdoor enthusiasts should seek out Cardigan Sports, bike hire and repairs are available at New Image Cycles and the Indoor Market has a range of interesting shops too.
