Villa in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Central Scotland - Fantastic Location In Conservation Area, Close To Beach, Park, Shops, Restaurants, Walking/Cycling
About Lynn Davidson
We live locally to the holiday property and acquired it to offer others the type of holiday accommodation we feel was missing from our fantastic local area, and Broughty Ferry in particular.
Lynn Davidson purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Lynn Davidson chose Broughty Ferry
Broughty Ferry is a wonderful holiday location, and the nearby city of Dundee, 'the coolest little city in the world' (Lonely Planet) and county of Angus are under-rated but fast gaining reputation and recognition. Whatever your interests are, they are sure to be catered for close by, activities, food, sports, family attractions, or art. Away from busy roads, but conveniently situated to have choices galore for things to do, eating out and shopping.
What makes this Villa unique
The V&A Dundee opened in September 2018. It is the centre piece of Dundee's waterfront regeneration and Scotland's newest 'MUST SEE' attraction.

Arranged to meet Lynn half hour before our arrival and she was there to greet us. Loved the large kitchen diner, so well equipped with all those things that you forgot to bring (like dishwasher tabs etc.) and a welcome box of Scottish tablets (hmm. wasn't sure if they were brown sugar cubes at first but they turned out to be the yummiest caramel fudge).
Thoughtfully, umbrellas were provided too.
The twin bedded room its very small, both beds against the wall with a small amount of space between but quite adequate.
Our only problem was parking in as much as we had two vehicles and one evening when arriving home we found a car parked in front of the garage which meant that both our cars had to find other places on the street. This, of course not Lynn's fault as there was a notice on the garage door requesting 'No Parking'.
Never the less we were very pleased with our stay, a spotlessly clean and modern apartment. Thank you Lynn.
Comfortable, light, bright and everything you need
This property has to be the best I have ever stayed in. Garage, lounge with a balcony and sea view (if only just). This property lives up to its description and photos. The Owners are very thoughtful and had left a few things for us to enjoy. I would have no problem in recommending this property. The beach just beyond Broughty Castle was a wonderful surprise. We found the locals to be friendly and very proud of their home town.
Thank you for your lovely review, delighted that you enjoyed Broughty Ferry and your stay.
Home from home, lovely house, well equipped.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Owner very helpful and house beautiful. Being seniors the two flights of stairs, one to lounge and kitchen and one to bedrooms might have been a disadvantage to some but the three toilets were very beneficial! ( The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars being the possible disadvantage)
Great location for town, transport, beach and castle.
We’re delighted that you enjoyed your holiday, and all that the area has to offer.
Great location for exploring Dundee, Angus and North Fife
We had a lovely stay here in February. We were a family of 4; (2 adults and 2 teenage kids.)
Immaculate and well equipped. Good WiFi, I am informed also.
One of the previous reviews mentioned stairs, we were fine but the grandparents might have struggled.
Ideal location for easy travel into Dundee City and for exploring various locations in Angus as well as North Fife. (Unfortunately in February (school holiday weekend), many of the historic attractions are closed but still plenty to do and see.
Plenty takeaway and restaurants to choose from and local supermarkets for topping up provisions all within easy walking distance as well as others in driving distance.
We enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Thank you for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay in Broughty Ferry. Hope to see you again in the future.
Lovely house in great location
Very (warm) comfortable house in great location in Broughty Ferry. Close to shops & restaurants- we had 2 lovely meals and a fish & chips takeaway over our 3 nights. Dundee is a short drive away with loads to keep kids amused. Science Centre, Discovery Point, V&A, McManus Centte etc Broughty Castle 2 mins walk from villa with swing park outside by beach. Would recommend this house. We would certainly rebook if coming to this neck of the woods again!
Broughty Ferry certainly is a great base, delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Hope to welcome you back some day!
Lovely house in a great location!
We stayed for 2 weeks in November and the house more than met our expectations. Very warm and comfortable - a real home away from home. Would absolutely recommend it!
