Cottage in Penzance, Cornwall, England - Central Location Close To All Amenities
About Susie Watson
After searching for more than five years I finally found my perfect home - a quaint old fisherman's cottage - Fumbles Cottage. As commitments prevent my constant occupancy, I am able to offer the cottage as a base for relaxing and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the old market town, or touring and exploring this beautiful part of Cornwall.
Susie Watson purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Susie Watson chose Penzance
This is a traditional Cornish cottage which, with the help of my daughter, I have endeavored to decorated and furnish in a tasteful, restrained manner.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is situated in a residential street close to the centre of Penzance and has private off road parking. It is very conveniently positioned for access to both the train and bus stations.

Ideal central location
Typical small terrace, tastefully decorated and very functional. Ideally placed for the train, the shops, beach and main routes in and out of Penzance. The parking space is very useful in a busy area. The cottage itself has everything you need for a holiday, even the bijou rear courtyard is sufficient outdoor space. The cottage is ample space for a couple, but not child friendly, as limited space, steep stairs and there is a big step into the kitchen.
Negatives for us were the noise (and we live on a main road) from people walking from the pub on one corner to the pub on the other corner, and the constant traffic using the narrow road as a cut through, all evening and night long. Also we found the cottage fusty.
However, we enjoyed our 2 week holiday in Cornwall and will definitely be back.
Lovely cottage and a great week in Penzance.
Fumbles cottage is well equipped, spotlessly clean and cosy. It had everything we needed for a really enjoyable stay. It is in a quiet side street, but also ideally situated, being parallel to the main shopping street. It is also only about two minutes from the rail and bus stations, which was ideal for us, as we arrived by train and travelled around by bus. We visited St Ives, st Michaels Mount, Lands End, Newlyn and Mousehole, and some delightful National Trust gardens at Trengwainton just outside Penzance. Penlee museum and art galley in Penzance was also worth visiting.
We would highly recommend both this cottage and the far south west of Cornwall.
Great, had everything we needed and more.
Great little cottage in good town location, very near bus and trains stations, fantastic having a parking space as well.
Really clean and tidy cottage felt homey without feeling you were in someone else's space. Owners super helpful sending information propr to stay and by post - so no need to get that printer working . Nice sensible touches like extra loo rolls, binliners etc. Felt like owner made an effort and cared about property and those staying there. Will use again and would recommend.
A lovely cottage which felt like home.
Immediately we felt at home and it was sad to leave after just a week. The cottage has been very thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and is full of character. It has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. It is very conveniently located in the centre of Penzance, close to numerous pubs and restaurants and the promenade. The allocated parking space 50 yards from the property is a god send with parking at a premium in Cornwall. We will definitely be staying again!
Delightful, spacious cottage in great location, with easy allocated parking nearby.
Fumbles Cottage is a little gem! All the rooms are tastefully decorated and well appointed. There is everything there that you need. It was nice to be able to catch the sun in both the front garden and the courtyard at the back. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance, as are the bus and train stations. Allocated parking is a bonus anywhere in Penzance, and it's a great base from which to explore the rest of the county. The owners of the cottage were very friendly and accommodating. We will be back!
