About Georgina McNaught

We are renting my grandfather's old cottage on Skye where we have enjoyed family holidays for many years.

Georgina McNaught purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Georgina McNaught chose Skye

Skye is beautiful and peaceful. This cottage used to belong to my grandfather and we came here for many many wonderful holidays.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottage is a perfect base for exploring Skye. It's peaceful and backs onto the hillside, but it's only ten minutes from Portree, where there are shops, restaurants and a lovely harbour.

We have recently put in a new kitchen with new appliances, utility room with washer and drier, there is a powerful shower, and also a log burning stove for cosy evenings in by the fire. There is a separate dining room for family meals and planning the next day's adventures with the help of our maps and guide books. Newly installed central heating system 2014.

There is a lovely mature enclosed garden, half an acre, perfect for relaxing in and taking in the views and for kids to play.

Whether you like walking, mountaineering or just relaxing in peace, Skye is a wonderful place to take a break.

Comfortable and complete cottage on good location

  • 5 of 5

We had a very pleasant stay in Georgina's cottage. The house is very complete and has a spacious and well equipped kitchen and bathroom.

Also the garden is rather big, with a lot of lovely flowers and plants and provides more then enough privacy. The house feels more like a home then a holiday-cottage. The location on the isle of Skye is very central. Most of the main-attraction are within an hour driving. We found Skye more touristic then expected but it is very beautiful still. We were there for four nights but we could have spend a week easily. We would definitely recommend Georgina's cottage!

This is a very nice and simple, rustic cottage, lovely and quiet. Spectacular surroundings.

  • 5 of 5

This Crofter's cottage is in the perfect location, out of the busyness of downtown Portree, and on a lovely quiet lane surrounded by farms and loads of sheep. It had plenty of room for my husband and myself and my two grown daughters. We felt very safe and taken care of. The owner was very thoughtful to leave us a bottle of wine. She was also prompt about communicating with us prior to the trip and gave us plenty of information in her email about what her favorite spots on Skye are. We loved the coral beach she recommended. The kitchen was very well equipped. We did take advantage of the washing machine which helped a lot. The beds were very comfortable. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your lovely home, Georgina.

Perfect location and very spacious home

  • 5 of 5

We appreciated so many things about the Cozy Crofters Cottage - very well stocked modern kitchen, easy to use washer and dryer, super shower, safe private parking, comfortable beds, freedom of having the whole house with 2 bath, 3 private bedrooms and great easy to use instructions for TV, DVD and heating system. It was automatically set and did come on for those chilly nights and mornings. So glad we had 4 days on Skye- any less would be a mistake. LOVED the 3 Chimneys! And made it to the top of Old Man of Storr. Worst part ? Very poorly maintained road to Quiraing. Not to miss- Fairy Pools, sunset in Ord, and Elgol. Lucky us we had 4 perfect weather days too!

Fantastic family home to explore the Isle of Skye

  • 5 of 5

Quiet spot away from Skye traffic. Easy access to Portree and attractions on Northern Skye. Our family enjoyed this house very much. After a day of hiking and exploring, we could relax and enjoy the view out the front window. The owners were very helpful with local tips and communication was excellent. We would love to come back and spend more time here. And the sunset views from here were amazing!!

Great time!! everything you possibly need you have!

  • 5 of 5

A home away from home. Loads of space, even groups of 5 would not have an issue. The amenities are the best we have ever seen. dishwasher, oven, washing machine, dryer and more... everything you could possibly need. The views are great and the log burner makes for some great nights in front of the fire with a nice glass of wine. Close to portree for you groceries and next to some great walks.
