Ideal vacation home for multi-generations or families vacationing together. In town, but private with a classic front porch, deck and large, fenced-in, landscaped yard. Build in 1850 as the Congregational parsonage, the house has five bedrooms and 2.5 baths, hardwood floors, two kitchens, a large dining room, and two comfortable living rooms.

Walk to the popular Belfast CoOp, fine restaurants, galleries, movie theater, town parks and beach. Stroll the Harbor Walk, watch the yachts, swim or kayak in the Bay. Less than an hour's drive to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, Camden, Rockland, and ferry terminals. Take your car or bikes and spend a day on one of the nearby islands. Explore Castine, Deer Isle, or Blue Hill. Search for antiques in Searsport. Visit the many state parks which offer hiking, camping, picnicking, and swimming.

Bring home lobsters. Cook in the fully equipped, modern kitchen with granite counter tops, wine cooler, all new appliances, and service for 12. New second floor kitchen provides additional space or the opportunity for a private meal.

Accommodations include two spacious, airy bedrooms with queen beds; three smaller bedrooms: one with queen bed, one with twin beds, and one with full-size bed. A crib is available. The second floor "apartment" has a double futon.

We were drawn to the Belfast community for its proximity to the ocean and its many offerings and amenities. We live here in the winter and wish to share our home with others when we return to our farm.

What makes this house unique

The house is in town, allowing us to walk to the library, CoOp, restaurants, theater and shopping. We love the Harbor Walk and the "rail-trail," as well as hiking at nearby Moose Point State and Acadia National Parks.

WONDERFUL

This is a great house! it's right on the main road, but they have double glazed windows, so it wasn't noisy at all.

there are two huge bedrooms in the main house, with queen beds, then a double in a smaller room. there is only one full and one half bathroom, but worked out fine.

there is a small deck out the back of the house with a barbeque, off the generously proportioned dining room. the garden is enormous and has resident squirrels and birds, who come to eat at the feeder outside the living room window.

the living room is at the front of the house, with lots of light, a TV and a pellet stove, also very large, and there is comfortable seating for 7 people. a deck at the front of the house has comfortable furniture for lounging and watching the world go by.

the kitchen is enormous and not terribly efficient, but who cares!? it has a lovely tin ceiling, a huge refrigerator/freezer, plenty of space for food, a wine fridge, a dishwasher, and a bose CD player with a great selection of music.

the attached granny flat (apartment above the garage) has a queen sized bed in the main bedroom, and a smaller bunk-bed room, which also leads into the smaller double bedroom in the main house, if you are renting the whole thing. this apartment has a good sized bathroom with shower/toilet and a separate kitchen & living area with a futon. also a big tv. the apartment is accessed by a separate set of stairs off the side door hallway. both of these share a laundry room, with big machines.

everything was organized and clean. they have a great separation system for recycling. there were cleaning and laundry supplies, cloth napkins, pot holders, dish towels, plenty of bed linens and also towels. also food basics, so check the house before buying anything!

2 very good supermarkets to choose from, the organic Co-op is just down the street. the house has central heating. only parking for one large SUV or truck, possibly 2 small cars, unless you use the garage, but there's plenty of parking in the area, just not outside the house. Beautiful old houses in the neighborhood, a very short walk to town & shops, very convenient location!

I cannot say enough about this lovely house that has been thoughtfully furnished by the wonderful owners.

A wonderful vacation experience.

What a treat it was for my family and I to spend a lovely week in this beautiful, historic home! Lee and Charlie were gracious and caring hosts and welcomed us warmly. The home was very clean, the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of room for us all to spread out. We appreciated having the crib for our 15 month old granddaughter and our four-year-old granddaughter loved the bunk room and the toys. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped to accommodate our needs. We enjoyed preparing several meals, eating outside on the deck and relishing the cool, Maine evening. The proximity to Belfast was perfect for walking to restaurants and shopping. We especially loved walking along the harbor walk and appreciating the beauty of this very special town. Belfast is in a perfect location along the coast for easy driving to many sights. We enjoyed visiting Acadia National Park, Owls Head lighthouse, Camden and climbing Mount Battie. I can't forget all the lobster pounds we found along the coast that had their own individual flair and were all delicious. Young's lobster pound is very convenient to the house and was the largest and quite a sight to see. Thanks Lee and Charlie for sharing your amazing home with us. We have wonderful memories from our week in Belfast and we hope to return.

What a charming immaculate home with exactly what our family needed to experience our week in Maine!

Spacious historic house very close to town

We recently stayed a week at Lee and Charlie's place. The house has many bedrooms- more than we needed for the 4 of us! The 2 full shower baths are upstairs (with all the bedrooms) and a half bath is downstairs near the kitchen and foyer. The kitchen is well equipped and is even stocked with some essentials as far as sugar, spices, olive oil, etc. The TVs are outfitted with Netflix (my kids were happy) and we had wireless internet- all while in a very charming old type setting with lovely decor and antiques. You can have the best of both worlds here. We walked to town most days. There is also a nice park just down the road with a great playground (Belfast park). We explored Moose point, Camden Park, Mount Battie and the Harbor area. All around a very nice trip where we could come back home to this house that felt familiar and welcoming. Would most definitely recommend to another family. Only downside: no dark curtains. The cellular shades provide privacy but let in the light. Since it gets light around 5 am, your room is too. So bring an eye mask if you need darkness!

Second wonderful year in this home

We had a lovely week in Belfast, our second year in this wonderful home. The layout of the home and yard worked very well for our family, with adult children visiting. The kitchen is well appointed, lacking nothing that we needed. We cooked out several times on the grill, and enjoyed the outdoor table and chairs for most evening meals. Walks to downtown were easy, and we enjoyed the harbor walk, accessible just down the hill. A great week together!

Belfast is Maine's smallest city. Located midway between Camden and Bar Harbor, it boasts of a public ocean access along the city maintained Harbor Walk, City Park, and city beach-all within a few blocks of our house. We are here in the winter, escaping the isolation of our beautiful small organic farm. In the summer, our Belfast house is available for you and your family.

Here are some of our favorite activities:

We walk two blocks to the ocean, the Belfast CoOp, great restaurants and pubs, a movie theater, public library, and great museums, galleries, and shops.

We love shopping for antiques at Robin's Nest and the Searsport Antique Mall, buying lobster at Young's Lobster Pound, hiking on the trails maintained by the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition or in the several nearby state parks.

In less than an hour, we can be in Arcadia National Park for a day on Sand Beach, a bike ride on the carriage trails, or a hike up Cadillac Mt. Another day, we can take bikes and board the ferry to Isleboro, Vinalhaven, or North Haven.
