About Cihan Demir
Me and my wife Sevil both were born and had grown up in Istanbul. One of us studied psychological counseling and labor economics and industrial relations did the other. While we were working very hard in multinational company, We started to dream that we could relocate and continue our life in a calm, coastal town”. Then instead of dreaming, we decided to take action and make realised our plans. in August 2011 moved to Kalkan, nearby Mediterranean Sea, where we spent most of our previous holidays and always desired to live in. When we first visited Islamlar Village, we were just charmed and worked to built a lovely property to make our family, friends and guests have same emotions. We are waiting for you to visit us and see same dream.
Cihan Demir purchased this Villa in 2013
Why Cihan Demir chose Kaş
Pine trees, grape vines, clean air, cosy restaurants and spring water of Islamlar Village have captivated us in the first look.
What makes this Villa unique
Travelling and staying in cosy towns, boutique hotels and villas are one of our indispensable habits. We have some routine places to visit in a year and want to be someone's routine place and persons to see in a life period. We thought every detail in the house as a guest and aimed to increase our guests' comfort to the highest level. We tried our villa to be harmonious with the village life and we used natural materials as we could. So we mixed wood's natural side and concrete's durability in our villas. Sleeping and waking up in a tastefully furnished wood room is really different. Here, you can see traces of traditional and modern life. Also the location of villas is unique with nature, mountain and sea-islands views.

A beautiful house is a delightful rural setting
This was our second visit to the house. It is well located in the great hamlet of Islamlar which we particularly like as there are some great simple restaurants within close walking distance, great views and only 15 mins to swim in the sea at Kalkan. The house is great- very clean, good sized rooms, 2 bathrooms and with a good pool and terrace. The owner is so friendly, being very attentive and bringing some delicious fresh food during our visit. He also arranged car hire at a very good rate from Dalaman airport. We will visit again another year.
We thought Villa Sedir was going to be good from our very first exchange of emails with the owner. Çihan answered so quickly, and nothing was too much trouble - he organised both the airport transfer and car hire (the villa is 8km outside Kalkan up in the hills, so you do need a car) and was there to welcome us when we arrived at midnight.
A welcome goody bag, including milk, cereal, water, crisps, chocolate and wine was indeed very welcome.
The villa itself is charming. A good size, sympathetically furnished, well equipped and comfortable. Upstairs, the vaulted wooden ceilings are a lovely feature. The views are spectacular, both from inside the villa (two bedrooms have balconies overlooking the sea at Kalkan) and from the terrace. There is a variety of outside areas giving choice of seating, view and sun or shade. The pool is a decent size, and well maintained. Some reviewers have commented about the proximity of the pool of the next door villa - it isn't a problem as there are now screens which give complete privacy.
Çihan called in a couple of times to check all was well and to offer advice about where to eat and visit. And on one day he brought us tasty Turkish pancakes a friend of his had made.
But it's not just Çihan who makes the stay enjoyable - Mehmet cleaned the pool daily very discretely and left us eggs and home-grown veg, and Latifa changed the linen mid-stay and cleaned inside, again discretely and efficiently.
Yes, there is a short, unmade track to the villa from the main road, but this is a small price to pay for being away from the noise and humid heat of Kalkan - Islamlar is always a few degrees cooler.
The villa is ideal for anyone who prefers a peaceful stay, but still be close to amenities and good road links to the many historic sites nearby.
A wonderful, memorable stay.
We arrived at the villa & found paradise! It was exactly as described in the advertisement, stunning views, and in tranquil surroundings. It was spotlessly clean & had every amenity there to make it feel homely. The decor was wonderful & in keeping with the natural surroundings. The owner's spoke fluent english & couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was the best ever. I'd highly recommend a stay here, I'm looking forward to returning for longer next time as a week wasn't enough!
Beautiful, immaculate and Special Villa
Starting from the start, we booked this villa some time in November 2015 for July 2016. Right from the off, the owner, Cihan Dimir was really on the case with some great advice and help organising our holiday so that everything went smoothly. Even down to liaising with the local car hire company for us and arranging the airport transfers.
The transfer by the way was equally good with a very posh Mercedes Vito with leather seats and air-conditioning. We were made to feel very important.
The villa was beautiful, in an idyllic location in the hills overlooking Kalkan, the seaside resort at the bottom of the valley. Only built a couple of years ago to a high standard from all natural wood and marble, the villa has a ground floor and upper floor, both overlooking a spacious wooden patio, overlooking the pool, overlooking the valley, Kalkan and the sea view. There is one spacious double bedroom, a spacious twin bedroom, both with sheltered balconies and full height doors opening into them and a smaller ground floor double guest bedroom. The villa is well appointed with a comprehensive kitchen, dishwasher, clothes washer, and satellite TV and Internet with WiFi. There is a dedicated driveway for the villa with parking, and further parking in a dedicated car park very close within the property boundary.
Two people from the local community are on hand to clean the villa and service the swimming pool, and one morning we found some very tasty locally grown vegetables and eggs on our doorstep left by the gardener.
I could go on about the villa all day, but further afield, approximately 100 yards away at the end of the drive is the first restaurant Asmaalti, recently taken over, and which serves a good selection of very tasty traditional Turkish and English food.
There are a selection of shops and supermarkets within a few hundred yards of the villa, and more larger shops 10 minutes away by car in Kalkan, which also has an excellent street market every Thursday.
There are several really excellent beaches, including Kaputas beach famous for its turquoise sea, Patara beach (18km long white sandy beach) and some fascinating Acient city ruins dotted around the area well worth a look.
Along the coast to the East is Kas, where we went on an excellent scuba trip with Nautilus Dive Centre.
Saklikent gorge is within 30 minutes to the West and is a very large water adventure centre offering all sorts of water based activities.
A wonderful stay
A lovely house in a beautiful setting in the most scenic part of Turkey, with views to the sea. Plenty of good, and very cheap, restaurants in walking distance - but bring a torch. Everyone was very friendly and Cihan and his wife were excellent hosts with lovely touches such as fresh tangerines picked freshly from their trees and traditional Turkish puddings. Lots to see in the area with many archeological sites in excellent condition and some beautiful sandy beaches within 20 minutes drive. Highly recommended.
Idyllic location with wonderful views
My husband and I have been visiting Kalkan for 25 years both before and with our children. We decided this year to stay outside the town for the first time and were really delighted with both Islamlar and our choice of villa. Villa Sedir is wonderfully situated in the hills which means you can enjoy both the sunshine during the day and the cooler air in the evening. Mountain and sea views are excellent. The large pool and garden are well maintained daily and the villa itself is clean and beautifully equipped. It certainly lived up to our expectations! The wi-fi was a big bonus - especially for my teenage son - and the DVD player was also well used. The BBQ area Is also a plus. I would recommend hiring a car particularly with a family as taxis into Kalkan can be quite pricey. There are a couple of small shops located 15 mins or so up the hill in the village selling milk, bread, water etc and several restaurants in the vicinity with Chops (again up the hill) being our favourite. We undertook a couple of excursions to our well loved haunts - a boat trip over the sunken city of Kekova and a tour of the Roman and Byzantine ruins at Tlos. My husband and son also enjoyed several scuba diving trips with the Kalkan Dive Centre, another place we return to year on year whilst my daughter and I made the most of the facilities at the next door Kalamar Beach Club. Cihan, the villa's owner, was an excellent host, meeting us in Kalkan from the airport late at night and guiding us to the villa (which we would never have found without him!). He came round to see us during our stay - bringing some delicious locally made pancakes with him - and stayed in contact with us throughout. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We would highly recommend Villa Sedir and are missing it already... Thanks for a great stay Cihan!
