About Dolores Staunton
Having lived all my life in Connemara, along with my husband we are delighted to be able to welcome guests from all over the world to enjoy our cottage and Connemara and to experience the uniqueness of this spectacular location. We live and work in the local area and are always on hand if guests need us for any reason during their stay. We are welcoming holiday makers to this cottage since 2004, and have made many friends during this time, and are very fortunate to have a long list of repeat customers.
Why Dolores Staunton chose County Galway
This cottage is very well equipped and is always spotlessly clean. It is very well located for touring Connemara, easy access to Galway city, to Westport in County Mayo. Day trips can be taken to InisBofin Island and to the Aran Islands. Local attractions within 15 minute drive are Kylemore Abbey and The Connemara National Park.
What makes this Cottage unique
The most unique feature of this cottage has to be its location. The view from the Kitchen window (where you can sit and eat) is ever-changing. No matter what the weather the view is always superb. The cottage is cosy and very well equipped and is always spotlessly clean for your arrival.

A truly beautiful place to spend a week.
This cottage is warm, well equipped and is situated in a majestic setting with mountains on one side and Lough Inagh on the other. It has the additional benefits of wifi and satellite tv. There are many walking/hiking opportunities close by. The Western Way is on the doorstep of the property. The owner was friendly and helpful. We really couldn't fault it as it fitted our needs perfectly.
Fantastic location and stunning views
A wee bit of heaven!
We rented this cozy cottage for 4 people for 8 nights. The accommodations are perfect for 4 people with 2 nice sized bedrooms and 2 baths. A fifth person could even be included since there is a twin bed in one bedroom. The kitchen is nicely equipped for cooking with all appliances, including a range top and an oven and microwave. We liked the French press coffee maker. We had a problem with the shower one of the bathrooms, and the owners took care of it promptly. The setting is spectacular, being in the midst of a sheep farm and at the base of mountains AND right in front of the Western Way. More storage space and perhaps hooks on the walls to hang coats and jackets would be nice, but this would keep me from renting this cottage again. In fact, I would love to stay here for a longer period of time in the future. We loved watching the lambs prolicking in the fields all around us. The stone wall and fireplace in the living room was beautiful, and the turf provided was handy. A great place to enjoy Ireland- the location is within a 20-30 minute drive of Clifden, a main city in the area, and a 10 minute drive to Recess, a small village to buy groceries and buy gas. There is a lovely lodge on Lough Inagh a 5 minute drive that has excellent food if you don't want to cook. Overall a lovely stay!!! Highly recommend!!!
Quaint Relaxing Cottage
We had an excellent time at the Cottage. Check in was very easy, the cottage has everything you need. The location was absolutely stunning, we were fortunate enough to see the spring lambs they were our neighbours in the fields around the cottage. Dorothy and Michael were very helpful and communicated often. Everything was perfect, we would definitely love to return.
BUCKET LIST VACATION
What a wonderful little piece of heaven. The cottage was very clean and tidy, well equipped. The most beautiful scenery, set between two mountain ranges. My husband, daughter and I had the most enjoyable week in this cottage. Dolores was just a blessing to meet and get to know.
Beautiful cottage in a magical spot
One of the best places I've ever rented in Ireland, and I've been visiting for over 30 years! I LOVE Connemara and wish I could have stayed longer. The cottage is situated at the base of the Maumturk mountains and has the Western Way running through the back of it (entrance a little down the road) and has Lough Inagh and the 12 Bens on the other side (Lough Inagh visible from a short walk up the driveway). You couldn't ask for a more peaceful, scenic place to stay. The cottage itself is very well appointed and stocked - you'll want for nothing in the kitchen. There's a lot of counter space for food preparation as well as cupboard space - both important and often lacking in rentals. It was so nice to sit by the back window and gaze on the mountains, sheep, horses and cows and listen to the birds singing. The cottage overall was so comfortable and cozy and very clean. The mudroom at the back was a very welcome addition for those days coming in from hikes. You couldn't find a better cottage to base yourself for exploring the Western Way or the mountains and general area. I really hope I can come back again, and soon.
