6 min. Walk to downtown Estes/generous on-site parking
About Harry Curlin
My mother was raised in this house, and our family spent summer vacations in Estes. We kids played on all the rocks, had picnics, ran around the neighborhood, walked downtown, & just had fun all summer. My grandfather was the Kodak distributor for the Nat'l Park, so we were in the Park a lot! Estes Park is bigger now, but Christmas is beautiful without so many people! Come visit!
Harry Curlin purchased this Cabin in 1910
Why Harry Curlin chose Estes Park
The Cabin is 4 miles from the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park and is 6 minutes' walking distance to everything retail from groceries to banking to sweet shops; yet, property can easily park 3 vehicles! Its cuddled on a quiet, private road in a Bed & Break-fast neighborhood. Enjoy!
What makes this Cabin unique

Great location. Can get to park entrance in under 10 minutes. Downtown Estes Park is a short walk (although you're on a fairly busy street without a sidewalk for a couple blocks).
Only negative was an ant issue in kitchen but property managers were VERY responsive. They came out immediately.
Walking distance to downtown
This little cottage was full of character and walking distance to downtown activities. We plan on staying here again.
Clatworthy Cabin is in an Excellent Location
This "cabin" was perfect for our trip! It is in an excellent location to get in and out of RMNP quickly and easily. It's walking distance to the downtown area. Remote enough that you don't feel your that close to the downtown area too. Full equipped with everything you will want and need, and the office was quick to respond to any issues we reported. The only issue we had, was the WIFI signal was very weak in the house. Otherwise, I can't believe this house is for rent with the history behind it. Google it, you will be surprised the history behind the Clatworthy name and it's connection to RMNP and Estes Park.
Escape to the mountain air
This was our first trip to the Estes Park as a couple. I am a hiker and my husband is a nostalgic, history buff. This historic cabin, adjacent to Rocky Mountain National Park, suited us perfectly! The park entrance is a less than five miles away, where you can access a wide array of trails and skill levels. The fabulous outdoors and historical pieces in the cabin – check out the cave - offer a wonderful escape from the craziness of work! In fact, expect to take a full break from work because wifi service in the house was spotty. (Was it set to automatically shut off at 10:00pm each night?) Then again, ask yourself, why work when the mountains beckon you to slow down and enjoy the fruits of your labour? We had a grand time in this very special house!
So glad you enjoyed the historic Clatworthy Cabin. Please co again.
Great stay in very well appointed location, full of character. Had everything we needed and more.
Terrific location and everyth By we needed as a base to explore RMNP. Would recommend to others and stay again ourselves.
Historic charm with great mountain views
Initially the history of the cabin and its original owner were huge attractions for us. Once there we enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, cleanliness, proximity to town yet private location, the fact that it has one bathroom per bedroom, and great mountain views from the sun room. Just a great vacation spot!
If it has to do with mountains, it can be done in and around Estes Park! Also most of Colorado's geologic formations are day-trip close. With parking provided on site, downtown is a 7 minute walk away for shops, "shoppes", fine dining or fast food, anything Western or recreation related...all within 4 miles of National Park!
