It has since been refurbished to a high standard to offer the convenience of modern day living whilst retaining comfort throughout. The property is set well back from the road surrounded by wildlife. Situated in the jaws of Borrowdale at the foot of Grange Fell overlooking the River Derwent and Wainwrights most beautiful square mile in Lakeland. Various Tearooms, Hotel Bars and Restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. Owner maintained, immaculately clean. Strictly No Pets or Smoking. A real home from home. Hello. My partner and I moved to beautiful Borrowdale after holidaying here since Childhood. It was a dream that came true after living in the Midlands for 39 years. I often still say to my children that I still cannot believe I live here.

What makes this Cottage unique
Fantastic views, situated in the Jaws if Borrowdale (Wainwrights favourite square mile of the Lake District). Walks from the door ,5 hotels/restaurants between 2 and 15 minutes walk. Peacefully situated on the banks of the River Derwent with off road parking. On the main bus route to Keswick which is just 4 miles away. Immaculately clean and quality furnishings. A real cosy home from home.

A beautiful place to stay . The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
The property is very well equiped. The surroundings and views are amazing. If you like watching wildlife this is a really good place to stay. We saw red squirrels ,wood peckers and a hare in the garden.
A lovely holiday home really well equipped. Located in a delightful position with access to the River Derwent. An amazing welcome pack and very helpful hosts. Easy access to many activities and sights. Also very convenient for restaurants and cafes within a short drive or walk from the property.

This bungalow was just about as good as it comes. The location is excellent, it is well equipped, convenient, and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Lovely well-equipped cottage with a really beautiful riverside view- perfect base to explore the surrounding area and the owners were very helpful and accommodating.
Perfect Place to Stay
Very enjoyable week in a lovely place which was in a perfect setting.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful valley . We walked and climbed different peaks every day and returned to Riverside to watch the garden wildlife. Excellent restaurants nearby and changing views all week.
Special interest holidays:
Walking--- You will be stopping in arguably the most beautiful valley in England. You can walk from the door and choose walks/scrambles to suit all levels of fitness and is situated in Wainwrights favorite square mile.
Climbing --- Troutdale Pinnacle Black Crag and Shepherds Crag are with in walking distance of the property.
Derwentwater --- is 10 minutes walk, has 2 Marinas and two other places you can rent boats canoes or have lessons.
We do not allow fishing from the Banks of our property but nearer to the lake you can catch perch, trout & pike.
Derwentwater is a renowned pike lake with plenty of course fish, trout and pike to over 25lb.
Watendlath Tarn 5 minutes drive offers one of the most beautiful fly fisheries in the UK boasting a 22lb rainbow a few years ago.
Photography - you will be spoilt by the views, wildlife and insects.
The West and Irish Sea are about 25 minutes drive .
Famous towns such as Maryport ,Whitehaven and Workington.
We are 4 miles from Keswick on a main bus route.10 minutes drive .
Penrith railway station is about 20 miles /30minutes
Manchester Airport 130miles /2 hours 20 minutes

If booking within 8 weeks of stay we require full payment at time of booking. The balance is due 2 months prior to commencement of the holiday. Changeover Day: Change Over Day Saturday (Full Week Bookings Only) Arrival 4pm - Departure 10.30am Notes on prices: We mainly let full weeks with change over date being a Saturday. Out of season or late bookings are available for a minimum 3 nights. You can book 3 days for 60% of weekly cost. Minimum Now £245 You can book 4 days for 70% of weekly cost.
