My husband has lived in Budleigh Salterton all of his life, and I come from neighbouring Exmouth. We live in Budleigh Salterton, only 5 minutes walk away from the Cottages, with our three young children. We also run the local Independent Win Merchant, The Tipsy Merchant, which can be found in the High Street.

The cottages were converted from old barns, thought to have been originally used as farm buildings, but were just used as storage over the last 50 years. We completed the conversions in March 2014.

Accommodation way above expectations, and they were pretty high........... You can immediately relax into your holiday when you stay in this wonderful cottage. Starfish provides everything you want for a perfect holiday and to be able to wander along to the costal path just a couple of minutes away is an added bonus. Thank you for a very restful holiday.

Comfortable Stay in a Central Location
We stayed in the Starfish house in December, just the two of us, and really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is a modern two double bedroom dwelling, spacious and very comfortable. Each bedroom had its own ensuite bathroom, one having a walk in modern shower that was very clean and well presented. The kitchen/dining room is spacious and well equipped and bright, with a full height window as is the lounge. An added benefit is having a downstairs toilet.
Facing the Starfish residence there are the two other rental properties which are separated by small garden at the front that is well designed and laid out with shrubs, allowing a degree of privacy. There is reserved parking on the road adjacent to the properties, which are accessed via a high entrance gate, again allowing a little seclusion.
The rental properties are located on Queen street, which runs parallel to the main street and is just a couple of minutes walk away; this is about the same distance to the beach. Budleigh town centre is well blessed with shops and good for shoppers browsing, with pleasant and attentive shop owners. There are two pubs in the centre that also serve food, the Feathers and the Salterton Arms, both being a short walk away. For dining out, our favourites were the Asian restaurant and McMillans Delecantesant.
Saving the best feature while last, Leticia Vaughan was a superb host, helpful, kind and patient in running through the introduction, which is a real benefit too, having a local owner available to greet you and to answer any questions.
