About Philip Rowbottom
We are lucky enough to live, work and bring up our family in the Lake District National Park, North West England. We are passionate about providing luxury holiday accommodation in the Lake District and would love to share our beautiful cottages and village with others. Our background is in the Hospitality business and the knowledge we have gained over the years has made it possible to provide you with two of the very best self-catering cottages in Staveley. We have worked hard to make our cottages what they are and hope that you will come and enjoy them. We have a wealth of knowledge of the Lake District which we are happy to share both in person and via the information we have ready for you in the cottages. We hope to welcome you to one of our cottages very soon.
Philip Rowbottom purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Philip Rowbottom chose Kendal
We bought Fell Cottage in 2006. Whilst spending time renovating it to an extremely high standard, we fell in love with the location and ended up buying and settling in our family home across the road. The area is rural but within easy reach of the village for walking the children to school or a stroll down to the pub. The M6 motorway is only 15 minutes and the whole of the Lake District is on our doorstep. What more could you want?

Beautiful, modern cottage
We fell in love with the cottage the moment we walked in. We had an amazing relaxing stay in the perfect base to explore the south lakes. It won't be the last time we book Fell Cottage.
Lovely cosy cottage, great location.
Fell Cottage is a lovely cosy cottage, kept spotless clean by the owners. The view from the front is beautiful.
This was our first visit to The Lakes, Staveley is the perfect location to explore, furthest point only an hour drive away.
We enjoyed a few evenings in the local pub, but after exploring during the day, it was lovely to spend the evening snuggling up on the sofa enjoying the wood burner.
We had a great week and were sad to see it come to an end. Thank you Philip and Morven.
Honestly, it was perfect.
Our stay at Fell Cottage was everything we wanted from self catering accommodation - warm, cosy, well equipped, beautifully furnished, a home from home. Philip was very easy to contact during our stay.
Staveley proved a great base with easy access to Kendal and Windermere. The village itself has plenty of provisions. The brewery was a real treat as was the bakery, butchers and coffee shop.
We definitely intend to visit again!
Relaxing, peaceful, beautiful cottage and location
Fell Cottage is absolutely lovely, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and in a lovely peaceful location. We appreciated the nice little touches of a welcome carafe of Port, a local newspaper, wood for the fire and milk for the brew. Highly recommended, it’s a credit to Morven and Philip the owners.
First Class really enjoyed our stay and the location was ideal for us
Property a little out of the village but my wife and I enjoyed a long weekend visiting Windermere and Ambleside. House clean , tidy and warm with everything you need on hand to make the most of your stay . Would recommend to anyone wanting to be based in that area of the lakes
Beautiful cosy cottage, extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming. Touches of luxury throughout!
Fell cottage is a delight! It is cosy, warm and welcoming. It has been so thoughtfully decorated - nothing overstated, but quality products - from bedsheets to toiletries abound. We could not fault it in any way - which is rare to be able to say! This truly did not feel like a self- cateting holiday let, but more of a home from home with helpful information on the area discreetly provided in a beautifuly bound folder. Morven and Philip have done a superb job of providing everything needed for a stress- free holiday. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!
