Homely historic cottage in interesting village
Tinsmiths Cottage provided a warm and comfortable base for our family get-together. It is to be found in a secluded area behind the main street, so whilst very convenient for local shops, pubs and places of interest it was quiet and private. Whilst parking is not available actually at the property we found the parking described in the particulars very easy to use and in fact unloaded from there.
For the history buffs Tinsmiths is positioned in an area of listed historic and architectural interest which is fascinating.
Lovely place, would go again.
Quaint, well equiped and comfortable
The photos don't do this lovely cottage justice; it is very comfortable, has everything that you need and is tucked away, even though it is in the centre of the village.
Thank you for your kindly review. You are right about the photos - we are currently in the process of changing and up-dating them.
Lovely little cottage with history at the front door
This is a very neat, clean and comfortable character cottage. Access could not be simpler. It was really interesting to have the "bear pit" right outside the door which is a part of the birthplace of the industrial revolution. Good pubs, restaurants and cafes are within metres and you can set off into the countryside from the doorstep. There were all the facilities you would expect but If you are looking for modern decor and furnishings this is not the place for you. We were not so it was perfect. If you want a base to explore the southern peak district at a good value price look no further.
Thank you for your comprehensive review. We are so pleased you all enjoyed your stay. Yes, there are many lovely walks in the area and you don't need a car to enjoy them.
Lovely cottage, clean and lovely location
It was really nice staying at the cottage, very close to a lot of places with history.
Thank you for leaving a review. So pleased you enjoyed your stay.
Welcome break in historical setting
We enjoyed the cottage - pleasantly surprised by the amount of space. Garden quite small but we got to meet plenty of passers-by. Everything as described. Was good to meet Ian who was fixing the lock as we arrived.
So pleased you could enjoy the cottage with it's new lock! Yes, we have only a tiny patio but it provides a space to sit outside. Thank you for your review.
loved Tinsmiths cottage. Very well presented. Interesting historical connection with Arkwright mill.
Not been to Cromford before but thought the village was very interesting. Excellent location for exploring all the peak district. Tinsmiths cottage was in a quiet location tucked out of the way of the main road. Cottage was very well appointed, warm and had everything we needed. I would recommend it and would stay again.
Thank you for taking time to write this review. So glad you enjoyed Cromford, and our cottage.
