My wife, Sara and I have lived in Devon for over 13 years and this is most definitely home. We came back to the West Country having worked all over the UK but as they say life is a journey homeward bound.

Why Sara chose Exeter
We bought this property because we love Topsham. The architecture, the range of fine eating houses ,its position on the River Exe all give it a unique vibe that draws you back time after time. Given that Exeter Airport is only 6 miles away and Exeter, the Regional capital is right on the doorstep it makes for a great holiday location.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property is a lovely Grade 2 listed building set right in the heart of the historic port of Exeter .With a situation over looking St Margaret's church and minutes from the historic quay and waterfront it provides the perfect base for exploring Devon and Cornwall. We pride ourselves on providing our guests with a really comfortable stay in a spacious and well appointed apartment. Topsham has a unique blend of fine restaurant's and boutique style shops with a great range of sports activities on the door step.

Two minor points, only one of which the owners could address.
1. Parking can be a bit of a pain at the “wrong” time of day - you may need to cruise around a bit to find a space, even in the car parks.
2. Secondary glazing could help with the street noise from early morning trucks/late night revellers.
These are only very minor points though - it really is a lovely, well appointed apartment and we would definitely use again.

Church view apartment was a great place to stay. It has been furnished beautifully. The vast kitchen was equipped with everything you need. It has stunning views over the river.
The main lounge was so comfortable and had been decorated for Christmas. We liked the relaxed atmosphere and lighting.
The large double bedroom was equally comfortable.
The position of Church view in the centre of Topsham was ideal for us. We used the restaurants and pubs, shops and the supermarket.
We liked being so close to the Parish Church. We heard them ring in the bells for new year and I was able to attend a midweek service.
The walks along the various foot paths were stunning. We watched the birds at the RSPB reserve. Caught the train into Exeter.
We had such a good holiday break. Thank you. May we wish you every success for the year ahead.

Beautifully Refurbished period apartment.
We stayed in this beautiful apartment before Christmas. A large, real, decorated Christmas tree had been placed in the sitting room to make our stay feel very festive - a thoughtful gesture by the owner’s.
We have stayed in many apartments at home and abroad and we can honestly say that this is one of the best.Andrew and Sarah clearly know what is required for an exceptional rental property.
It is very well equipped and a lot of thoughtful touches have been added.
Topshom is a delightful place to stay. We have visited in the Summer and the Winter. There is much to see and do at any time of the year.A local train and bus service means that you can access a lot of locations , should you wish to have a rest from driving.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Everything we wanted for our short break at the end of October.
Clean and cosy / comfortable apartment.
Plenty to see and do around Topsham.
Lots of lovely independent shops along the main street.
Train service makes it easy to get in and out of Topsham if you prefer not to drive.
Would give the property five stars were it not for the car parking challenges. Not easy to park near the apartment and very little opportunity to make use of the free parking available elsewhere in Topsham.

Topsham is nestled on the East side of the River Exe and is the former port of Exeter. The town has a long and ancient history dating back to the Roman period.
Formerly a major seaport trading in cotton, the town is now of interest for its architecture with many of the houses being built using Dutch bricks which were brought over in exchange for wool and cotton.
Topsham has great proximity to nature reserves for wading and migrating birds with RSPB Bowling Green Marsh located on the Exe estuary, the whole of which is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
It also boasts its own museum which is located in a 17th century building overlooking the Exe Estuary and displays the local history of the town and memorabilia of Vivien Leigh, the film star.
Topsham has unique character supported by many local independent shops and restaurants as well as some great sporting facilities with the heated outdoor swimming pool and local tennis courts nearby.
Changeover Day: Changeover day is flexible. Guests can enter the property from 3pm and need to vacate the property by 11am. For short breaks the same times apply to the arrival and departure days.
