Cottage in Mousehole, Cornwall, England - Central Location Right By The Harbour And Minutes From All Village Shops

Part of the Lobster Pot Hotel development, Kitchen Cottage offers attractive family accommodation in a convenient location right in the heart of the beautiful village of Mousehole. The property sleeps four people in one double bedroom and one twin room. A cot is available for those travelling with a young baby. All bedlinen and towels are provided. Downstairs there is a well-equipped modern kitchen and a dining table seating four people. The open plan living and dining area is tastefully and comfortably furnished with leather sofas and a flat-screen television with Freeview. WiFi has recently been installed. A good selection of books and guides are provided. Outside is a large courtyard area with plants in pots, a table and chairs and a charcoal barbecue. Please note that for those with pets, the courtyard is not enclosed.

Why Lisa Thomas chose South West Cornwall

I bought Kitchen Cottage in 2012 with a legacy from my parents. My father adored being by the sea and I think he would have loved the idea that his money had gone into a seaside property in a village as delightful as Mousehole.

I'd visited a number of places in Cornwall over the years but Mousehole was the one I kept coming back to. I love the combination of the village's charm and cosiness and its position right at the far western tip of the UK - as far from the crowds as you can get.

The village is exceptionally well connected and is a great base for exploring the west of Cornwall whatever your means of transport.

What makes this cottage unique

While the cottage is right at the heart of the village, just behind the harbour, and close to the beach, it is a quiet retreat and not set hard on the road. It has a large outdoor patio space which is quite rare in a small cottage in Mousehole but provides an outside dining area when the weather is good and is also a play space for children.

Outside: The cottage has a partially enclosed courtyard garden; unfortunately there are no immediate sea views but it is so close to the harbour that those seeking a view only need to walk a few steps. There is a large table and four folding chairs, plentiful pots of sub-tropical plants, along with a large, charcoal-fired barbecue. The garden is not enclosed so those with children and or pets may want to keep them supervised while outside. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen and provided. For a stay longer than a week, linens are changed on Fridays.




Two minutes to the beach at Mousehole; other beaches at Penzance, Lamorna, Porthcurno, Marazion amongst others are a short drive away.


Nearest airport is Newquay, 60 miles (1 hour) away.

Nearest major train station is Penzance, 3 miles away with a frequent, reliable bus service to the village.
