Home from home
Val gave us a very warm welcome and we thoroughly enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake and home made bread and eggs and bacon. The cottage has everything you could wish for. Very warm and cosy. There is not an enclosed garden for the doggies to use but there is a public footpath leading into a field only 50yds away. Long grass so make sure to bring wellies in the winter. There are so many lovely walks to do nearby. I would recommend the disused air field above and behind the cottage. Very quiet with beautiful views. The cottage is in an excellant location at the end of a single track lane which can seem quite long when you're driving along it! Fortunately we never encountered any oncoming traffic.
I would sum this cottage up as home from home in a quiet, peaceful, relaxing location.
Idyllic Rural Getaway near Bath
One of the best places we have stayed in around the UK.
The setting is idyllic, peaceful and quiet in the most delightful of surroundings. There was a warm welcome from the Owners and lots of goodies including a cake and freshly baked bread. The cottage was well equipped and met all our expectations and more. No hesitation in saying this is one of the best holiday homes around and we commend it unreservedly! Just brilliant!
Fantastic cottage in a quiet, scenic location.
We had a fantastic week at this great cottage on the outskirts of Bath.
Set in the rolling country side with great views and birds of prey soaring around, what's not to like.
We had a very warm welcome from Vivienne and Richard, also the lovely surprise of freshly baked home made bread, a lemon drizzle cake as well as bacon and eggs for the next mornings breakfast. This little barn conversion has all the mod cons, fully equipped kitchen, fantastic shower wet room and dad's books and games to keep you occupied in the evening or rainy day.
Great location for walking and cycling, also Bath and Bristol close by.
Would highly recommend this property and we will definitely go back in the near future.
Ramscombe Cottage, Bath
Absolutely stunning location, beautiful scenery and an immaculate, well equipped cottage with loads of space.
The owners are lovely, and the welcome pack, including homemade fresh bread and cake, was a really nice touch.
There was lots of tourist information in the cottage such as maps and a local area guide which were very useful.
The cottage itself was also beautiful, and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We will definitely be going back.
A sweet cottage in a beautiful setting. We felt very welcome as upon arrival we found a lovely lemon cake, a freshly baked loaf of bread, and some bacon and eggs. We recommend taking a walk down into the village, then finishing up with a drink on the deck of Bathhampton Mill.
Tranquil with quintessential English hospitality
Why don’t we get more hosts like Vivian? We had an amazing 3 night stay in this end of the lane, middle of nowhere, “high-tech” shack just outside Bath. Pristine, superbly furnished and equipped with all you may wish for and more. Probably more because Vivian is one of those hosts who can anticipate any need. Home baked lemon curd biscuits on arrival; home-baked bread, eggs, bacon and milk in the fridge, hankies on bedside tables, wet room with fab shower... the list goes on! Faultless: book, do not hesitate! Bring a bike or two to get to Bath (3.5 miles, downhill).
