Cottage in Bowness-on-Windermere, Lake District, Cumbria, England - A Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Stroll To The Lake And 15 Minutes To The Fells
About Ged Maguire
We have owned this property 13 years, it has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard. We live close by and are on hand should you need any help but love the fact you are secreted away so can be completely private if you so wish.
Why Ged Maguire chose Windermere
Annisgarth Howe is truly special. Particularly spacious but still retaining charm and cosiness. There are amazing walks on the doorstep, it is close to all amenities but yet secreted away.
What makes this Cottage unique
Annisgarth Howe is the perfect location. It is quietly tucked away but you can walk to the top of Brantfell in 20 mins, where you will enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Windermere, you can even see the sea on a clear day! Should you prefer the shops and local hostelries a ten minute walk will do the job. Another couple of minutes will bring you directly to the watersedge, with the chance to hop on a steamer for a magical trip on the Lake.
100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
Amazing Get Away!
This holiday cottage was exactly what we were looking for. It was spotlessly clean, in a quiet location and had a very welcoming feel to it. We couldnt have asked for anything better for our first visit to the Lake District ..... perhaps just a little more sunshine! Thoroughy enjoyed our stay.
Briliant - Ged couldnt do enough for us
Very clean with everything you need - home from home
Lovely cottage and surroundings
Me and my partner had a lovely couple of nights stay here. Very cosy and homely feel. Clean, tidy and comfortable. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Only bad thing was we didn’t stay longer!!
Great location for walks, Bowness & Windermere centres. Friendly host, comfortable, clean cottage.
Lovely short break in the lakes. The property is in a great spot, lovely & cosy for two people to stay. It was clean, looked after & with all the amenities you could need. Ged the host/owner is contactable if you need anything & friendly but will leave you be to enjoy your holiday. There are useful leaflets on local walks in the property which we used during our stay. There is a DVD player so you can bring DVDs to watch in the evening if you wish after a day of walking/exploring. There are places to eat out in Bowness & Windermere or if you prefer there are a selection of small supermarkets to shop at & cook/eat in the property.
Also a nice touch from the owner was a welcome basket containing some essentials.
Overall a lovely break, we would return & recommend to others.
Lovely Accommodation, in Great Location
We had a lovely short break in the lakes over new year. The accommodation is in a great location only a short walk down into town. The walk back is mostly up hill but nothing too strenuous. The property itself is just perfect. Plenty of room for 2 and decorated so nicely. It had everything that we need for our stay and the complimentary welcome basket, plus milk and butter in the fridge was a really nice touch. Me and my partner said a few times how we could quite easily live here as it just felt so homely. thank you Ged for letting us stay in your amazing property and for checking in on us to make sure we were settled in Ok. We will definitely be back soon and have already recommended the place to some of our family
Great accommodation in a great location
Really lovely accommodation only ten minutes walk from the centre. Plenty to do and lovely places to eat and drink
