About Matt & Kate White
Matt and Kate White live at this address with their two young children Jack & Harry, and black labrador Lola - all of us are very friendly and look forward to welcoming you.
Matt & Kate White purchased this Barn in 2007
Why Matt & Kate White chose Winchester
We bought our house together with our converted stables/coach house, as this is a stunning period property in a superb village location on the edge of the beautiful and historic City of Winchester. Mildmay House was formerly the Vicarage in Twyford and has stunning views of the Church and water meadows beyond.
What makes this Barn unique
The property is in a quiet location and a short stroll from the Village shop, post office and pubs, and there is very easy access to hustle and bustle of Winchester. Having a car is not necessary as bus and train are easy walking distance.

Great location and very unique and well presented property with very accommodating owners.
Kate and Matt made us welcome from the start. Beautiful location in a very old part of England. Easy access to motorway and rail but could be a million miles away. Totally quiet with beautiful walks along the river . We will come back again!!
Absolutely lovely converted barn and great hosts
I throughly enjoyed my stay in Kate and Matt's converted stable. It is very cosy and homely decorated. The hosts helped with any question I had; Kate and Matt are super hosts!
The stable is located in a small village close to a river and walking tracks. Winchester and Southampton are both continently close to the village and the Southampton Airport just 15 minutes away.
This is a place I would go back to myself!
A beautiful barn converted cottage for two. Ideally placed opposite the church. Well equipped, everything you need for a fortnight stay.
Kate and Matt very helpful but only there when you need them.
We spent four nights in the barn at Mildmay house. The barn had been beautifully renovated and most importantly had a very comfy bed. We would highly recommend this accomodation
Beautiful barn (converted to something really, really cosy and warm). Quiet surroundings with amazing walks. Thank you Kate for your hospitality
Proper pillows, the warmest of welcomes, beautiful linen, exceptional and tasteful sympathetic renovation of a Grade 2 listed barn. Honestly, what's not to like?
March turned into winter again with three inches of snow. This only added to the charm of the property and the setting. The peace and tranquility were heightened further, coupled with the warmth and comfort of the property. So hard to leave.
Would (and have already) recommend highly. We would definitely return.
