Villa in Pollensa - Peaceful Location Within 10 Minutes Drive Of Pollenca Town And The Beach

Can Collet is a private and well appointed Villa, built in traditional Mallorcan style with a lovely spacious garden complete with fig and lemon trees, private swimming pool and a large shady terrace ideal for alfresco dining. The Villa is situated 10 minutes drive from sandy beaches, and from Pollenca town, close enough to the amenities but in a peaceful and private setting with views over the mountains, spectacular as the sun sets. As the Villa is all on one level and the garden fully enclosed it is perfect for children or those with limited mobility.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

I, the home owner can process your booking but I want to let you know the following before you decide on which payment method to make.

For many good reasons, not least financial security and because of the various scams with some properties and email hi-jacking, Owners Direct have introduced a 'service fee' when you choose the option 'Request to Book'. This asks for your credit card and deducts the payment for the fee directly to them. In principle not an issue, and it is in line with some other holiday booking sites, but Owners Direct do not make this very clear.

I have been renting out my villa for the last 4 years and have always connected with my guests personally to eliminate any possibility of fraud or mis-representation, which works for both parties. This methodology has served me and my guests well which you see on the Reviews the villa gets.

My charges for the villa are as stated in the pricing sheet. You can opt to pay me by cheque or bank transfer without paying the service fee if you wish to. You just need to process the booking via 'Enquire Now' not 'Request to Book'. We can then manage the transaction separately, Choosing this route does not provide the same level of financial security since you will not be eligible for the Book with Confidence guarantee but I feel obliged to point it out as an option to any prospective guest.

I live in Warwickshire with my husband and we had always been interested in buying a home in the Spanish sunshine. After some deliberating and a number of visits to the island over the past 15 months , we bought Finca Can Collet in May 2013 from a Mallorcan family who used the finca as a place to entertain friends and family for BBQ's during the summer.

We bought a property in Mallorca because there were fond memories of the island as a child when I used to holiday here with my parents. We love the north of the island for the combination of sandy beaches and marinas, rugged coastline and the historic old towns of Pollenca and Alcudia.

Being by the sea, and because the island is so compact you are never far away from a beautiful coastline or beach. The island is easily accessible from all European destinations, with a very efficient airport.

The Mallorcan people are very friendly and welcoming especially to tourists which makes you feel more at home. English is widely spoken on the island so you can always make yourself understood, and there are many nationalities here which gives it a cosmopolitan and relaxed ambience.

What makes this villa unique

The property is very convenient for the town and local shops as well as a choice of beaches within a few miles. The pool, garden and outside terrace are the best features of the property - there is enough space for all the family to relax and chill out. It is in a peaceful location with great views over the mountains. As you sit in the garden and the light changes so does the colour of the mountains - you can see Puig Santa Maria from the finca which is one of the peaks used by the British Olympic cycling team who train in the Tramantura mountains. Watching the sun set over the Puig is a special moment worth savouring with a glass of wine!

Another lovely stay at Can Collet

We came back to Sue's lovely villa for 8 days, having visited for the first time last summer. We were all really looking forward to returning - our boys (10, 5 and 3) couldn't wait to get back to the pool and garden. Sue leaves floats for the pool and ball games for use by guests ... We all enjoyed playing with them. It is always a risk to return to the same place but it was every bit as lovely as we remembered. It is a real home from home. The villa is lovely, really private, clean and well- equipped with thoughtful finishing touches like night lights for the children. Pollenca is a great location - so many good placed to visit within a short drive... And the villa is a great place to go back to ... Sue provides lots of useful information for visitors - I would thoroughly recommend this villa - you can be confident of a lovely family holiday. We followed our stay at Sue's villa with a few days at a hotel in the south of the island- we unanimously agreed that we enjoyed the unlimited private use of the villa and pool the best.... The Perfect Bolt Hole

When we booked Finca Can Collet we honestly thought it looked too good to be true. How wrong we were! It lived up to the images and description and if anything surpassed our expectations both in terms of the property and its location.

Sue could not have been more helpful with the pre-arrival communications and the information on local facilities, points of interest and places to eat.

The pool was a great place to cool off and the kids really enjoyed evening games of table tennis and boulles.

All-in-all we had a great week's stay and would thoroughly recommend this property.

Wonderful Villa in a beautiful part of Majorca

We’ve just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at Finca Can Collet and collectively agree that this was the best holiday we’ve had as a family...our 5 year old, in particular, absolutely loved the pool!

The villa is beautifully presented to a very high standard and it’s clear that it is a well-loved place of relaxation for Sue the owner and her family in the Majorcan sunshine; we are delighted that she’s decided to share it with others.

There’s lots of space throughout the villa and the well-maintained garden and pool areas are superb. The attractive seating area on the edge of the veranda is a particularly nice place to relax in the shade when things get a little too hot and is also a great place to unwind with a drink in the evening.

What makes this villa stand out though from all the others we’ve ever stayed in is all the carefully considered little ‘extras’ that are available. There’s far too many to mention here but a quick list consists of handy pool towels, a good coffee machine that actually works and is easy to use, quality bath matts, hand soap/lotion in both of the luxury bathrooms and excellent furniture throughout including the beds which are worth a special mention – the king-size bed in the master bedroom is great and is a welcome change to the usual slatted-base variety and thin mattress most others villas seem to have these days.

The kitchen too is well-stocked with every type of pot, pan, utensil and home appliance you’d ever need and what’s really nice is that when the property changes over between guests, simple everyday items such as washing up liquid, cling film and foil, bin bags, unused dish cloths and any remaining herbs and spices are left for others to use rather than having to buy everything from scratch at the start of your visit; it’s then just a quick addition to your own shopping list to replace if anything is used during your stay. As my daughter says, “sharing’s caring”!

The villa itself is situated in a very peaceful and handy countryside location just a short 5mins drive from both Pollenca’s Old Town as well as the Port area where you’d find the best local beaches which are ideal for families with young children due to the very gentle slope leading into the sea – great for toddlers paddling and having fun.

All in all, a fabulous holiday and a place we’d love to come back to.

Highly recommended - great location and very comfortable home

This villa is ideal for a holiday in Mallorca. It is surrounded by a lovely big garden which is peaceful and very private but conveniently is within only minutes of the coast and also the shops and restaurants of Pollensa. It is also a great base for exploring further afield, being within easy reach of Alcudia, Soller, Valdemossa, Lluc etc. It is very comfortable inside, equipped with everything you might need, and everything is of good quality (the bathrooms are particularly nice). Outside we welcomed having the choice of eating at a table in the sun or one in the shade and the kids loved the pool and all the inflatables to play with. The owner Sue is a pleasure to deal with and very helpful and there is lots of information available about the house and the area to make your holiday even more enjoyable. We would all very happily stay here again if we came back to the area.

Relaxation guaranteed

We enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in this excellent villa. It is well equipped and is set in quite large grounds and is in a quiet location. The only noises were the occasional dog barking and the bells on the sheep nearby, a noise which is quite therapeutic. However the location is a short drive from both Pollensa (with easily accessible supermarkets) and Puerto Pollensa. Some of our party were elderly and one had mobility problems but this flat one storey villa was perfect for them ... and hence us too! But it would also be great for children with the large safe grounds. We have stayed in many villas over the years and this is one of the best. We shall undoubtedly return. One final comment is that the owner, Sue, is easily contactable and helpful.

The Villa is a 10 minute drive from 2 bays - Port Pollenca and Alcudia, both with sandy beaches and good amenities and eating/drinking places across the road from the beach. Free parking is available on the promenade right next to the beach.

Town:

The Villa is a 5 minute drive from Pollensa town. The old walled town of Pollensa is famous for its Sunday market and has a beautiful square with open air restaurants and cafes.

Travel:

Nearest airport is Palma, 35 - 40 minutes drive.

Car hire is recommended.

Distances:

Distance to Pollenca town is 1.8 miles (3km). Approximately 5 minutes by car.

Distance to Port Pollenca or Alcudia beach is 3.6 miles (6km). Approximately 10 minutes by car or a 25 minute walk.

You can also cycle to the town or beach on the bicycles provided. 10 minutes to Pollensa and 20 minutes to the beach.

Further Details:

There is a choice of supermarkets - in the Port or just outside Pollenca town. Both are only 10 minutes drive. There are 4 bakery shops in Pollenca which are open daily except Sunday. There is a wide choice of banks, local shops and restaurants in the locality, all of which are easily accessible. The property has a full Information Folder listing the popular restaurants and attractions on the island.

I also provide a welcome basket at the house for each booking , with hot beverages and biscuits, water and a bottle of wine or cava.

Outside: The garden is spacious, about 1 acre in size and well maintained with an irrigation system and includes several large shrubs, fig and lemon trees and roses. The drive is bordered by mature palm trees, oleander shrubs and a trailing vine which provides privacy. The garden is fully enclosed which makes it suitable for children. The property is south facing, and benefits from sunshine throughout the day - in the morning on the terrace as well as the sunset over the mountains. The private swimming pool is an attractive figure-of-eight shape and is 1m deep at its shallowest, 1.8m at the deep end. There is a Mallorcan stone/brick outside BBQ and Pizza/bread oven. The terrace is perfect for alfresco dining, with a large table seating up to 10 and outdoor sofas and chairs. It is shaded and overlooks the pool. There is also a large stone table seating up to 10 in front of the BBQ & Pizza Oven which provides an ideal spot to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the mountains.
