Wonderfully designed for beauty, comfort, ease, location—even in howling gale.
The house is a delightful blend of contemporary and traditional design, pared-down simplicity that doesn't sacrifice comfort. (An unusually thoughtful bonus is the excellent interior sound insulation, allowing for privacy even among friends.) Spotlessly clean, well-equipped kitchen; great showers and spacious bathrooms. An additional plus is the aerie above the two-story living room space, which allows at least a partial retreat and a cozy reading room.
Nestled in trees, with a view of the pasture in front, sunsets in the evening, the living room/kitchen space is cosy. And then it's an easy walk to the very good nearby pub, The Monks' Retreat, and to the award-winning community shop.
Comfortable, quiet and everything needed for a great stay.
The barn is very well appointed, with everything you could want. I particularly enjoyed the underfloor heating and very comfortable king size beds. Highly recommended.
Very well fitted out with everything we wanted. Beautiful furnishings and facilities.
Fantastic converted barn
Parke Barn is located in a beautifully peaceful setting, next to a stables.
The accommodation is fantastic and spacious and everything you need is there at your disposal.
I can highly recommend this accommodation.
A real holiday home in a quiet village, with everything you need.
The barn has everything you need for a holiday. All rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is secluded and quiet, in a nice little village with 2 good pubs and 1 small shop for a few groceries. The heart of Dartmoor is a 45 minute drive away.
Clean and Comfy with great beds
We recently stayed in this property for one week in August and found it to be of a high standard and everything about the property was quality so it gets the thumbs up from us, however if anybody is thinking about renting this property in the summer months I would recommend that they take a fan as the building was very warm especially through the night, My wife and I both suffer from back problems and found the beds were perfect for us as they were the biggest beds we have ever slept in and they were extremely comfortable and did not bother our backs at all
