I came to Scarborough from Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands in 1979 because I felt that it was a beautiful environment to explore and enjoy, especially for a family. We had holidayed here for some years before and were thoroughly at home with the beach, Dalby Forest and The Wolds. Scarborough people are very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home instantly. With my career as a Beauty and Complementary Therapist I made a lot of friends very quickly. My husband, David, is originally from Middlesbrough, went to Wolverhampton College to study photography, lived for some time in High Wycombe but came to Scarborough for all the same reasons. He retired last year from the local daily newspaper to enjoy his photography and freelance at leisure. Scarborough is the perfect place to do it.

There are lots of walking areas and glorious scenery to explore.The area is ideal for holidays by the sea and also for woodland walks, just great for families and couples alike. But what makes it perfect I think is the complete array of local shops just one minute walk away making it self-sufficient for everyone's needs. Scarborough town centre and the beach are also only 3-5 minutes away along with the many areas for walks and well-tended parks in South Cliff. Perfect if you only want a short walk and view. It is on the main bus route to Filey and the Wolds and close to the A64 so you can explore the surrounding areas from Whitby to Pickering and York to Bridlington,... an ideal location for holidays.

A great appartment in a great location
Denise was a great host and we enjoyed our stay. The apartment had all we needed and was great for relaxing and socialising. We would certainly recommend a stay here
Charming and ideal
The property is a short walk to the centre of town. The rooms are light and airy with big bay windows and high ceilings. The beds are very comfortable and really nice to have an en-suite to all the bedrooms.
Lovely, clean airy light apt. Didn't have a tumble dryer and nowhere to hang towels.
Kitchen well equipped and living room lovely. Shops and takeaway's nearby, fairly near sea.
Really enjoyed our 5 day stay in this large apartment. We used all 3 bedrooms, my son and wife, grandson and husband and myself. We had the biggest with walk in shower. A true home from home. Dishwasher, washer and drying rack amongst other things. A short walk across Valley Bridge into town or down a hill onto south side then an open top bus to north side. Had great time and lovely welcome by owners Denise and David who live on premises. Always available if you need anything. Parking was something I was concerned about but there was always some available near apartment. All in all would recommend a wonderful stay.
