Perfect location with everything you need
My partner & I stayed in the Carthouse for a week in May 2017 with our German Shepherd. The Carthouse has been renovated to a high standard & has everything you could possibly need. The views from the kitchen are stunning. Martha, Mark & the boys were very welcoming & there was an enormous freshly baked loaf of bread waiting for us on the kitchen table. I must not forget to mention Billy the dog who visited us daily to catch up with our dog. There are several walks directly from the cottage that join up with the Pembrokeshire coastal path. While there are several small sandy beaches within walking distance, our favourite is Newport Sands, which is a short drive away. It is the biggest sandy beach I've seen in the UK, is dog friendly & you can even park your car on the beach. The Carthouse is the perfect location from which to explore Pembrokshire & we hope to be back again soon.
Thank you for your lovely review. Billy enjoyed having Rommel to boss about. Newport is lovely for dogs and its pretty handy to drive on the beach it's a little bit of dog heaven. It would be great to see you again.

If heaven had a place on earth
The only thing I didn't enjoy about this holiday was going home!
We had such a relaxing week. It was such a lovely clean and well presented cottage, everything you need right at your fingertips. And the homemade bread when we arrived was such a treat.
This was our first time in Pembrokeshire and it's a beautiful place, we did lots of touring around and I have to say that north Pembrokeshire was by far our favourite, the hidden gems of beaches that we practically had to ourselves were stunning, you could easily forget you were in the uk. Our dogs favourite beach was Newport sands (dog friendly all year round) purely as it was about 1 1/2 miles long and they could have a good romp. This was about a 10 minute drive. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance also, we walked through a wooded area at the bottom of the road to a waterfall and then onto a secluded beach, we then walked along the coastal path to another beach, which seemed more popular, our dogs made many friends there! It was always lovely to come home, cook supper and relax with the wonderful views. And how lovely to have total darkness at night, no annoying street lights.
If you want to have the best fish and chips ever, go to Hooked in Fishguard town, follow this by a wonderful harbour walk at sunset.
We felt so at home here, even the dogs did that our black lab chased Charlie the owners dog as he thought he was on his land!
Thank you for having us and we hope your boys did well in Poole.
Lovely peaceful cottage with breathtaking views
We had a lovely week exploring the local area. There are beautiful coves to relax in with kiyaking places to launch from. The cliff top walks were spectacular, especially around Dinas Island. Of an evening, enjoy the view from the cottage garden over dinner, and do some star gazing. The cottage is very comfortable with all that you could need including a TV, which you don't!
What a wonderful place to stay. Perfect views perfect place perfect host. Perfect welcome.
We arrived early to what can we can only describe idilic place. Martha Mark and Charlie gave us a very warm welcome and delicious loaf of home made bread. Charlie (the dog) paid us regular welcome visits but never ventured inside without being asked but how can you refuse such a loveable character.
Nothing was missing and every eventually catered for. The view are outstanding as is the care and attention to detail.
Would highly recommend this cottage to any couples wanting a quiet and peaceful holiday. Plenty to do around and about aNd location is ideal for visiting anywhere in Pembrokeshire
