As you turn into La Terrisse, onto a long grassy driveway, you will see the gite ahead with a large covered terrace. The terrace has comfortable seating plus a large table and benches for outdoor dining. The living area is open plan with modern furniture, wood burner, kitchen area (including dishwasher), sofa, armchair and dining table and chairs. Also on this level is a twin bedded room with ensuite shower room and French doors leading onto the terrace. A rustic spiral staircase leads to the delightful, romantic second bedroom, with king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom (bath with shower over). This bedroom has a ceiling fan to keep it cool in the summer months and lots of low beams, so don't forget to duck!
Gite Pimple Sleeps 4 (2 Bedrooms)
La Terrisse is a charming, tastefully renovated property in large private grounds. The two gites are approximately 30m apart and are ideal for individual letting, or let together for two parties or a large family. The pool is alarmed for safety and has lights for night time swimming. There are plenty of loungers and parasols on the large terrace around the pool, making it a great area for relaxing. Both properties have private shaded terraces with outdoor furniture. Each gite has a dishwasher, comfy sofas and high quality bathrooms. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer for guests to use in the laundry, plus iron and ironing board. Each gite has wifi, satellite TV with UK channels and DVD player. There is a selection of DVDs and books for you to use during your stay and a box of children's toys.
If you want a break from relaxing by the pool or exploring the grounds at La Terrisse, there are plenty of things to do in the local area:
* 'Parc en Ciel' is about 8km away from the property and is a fantastic aerial assault course, suitable for all ages and in a lovely wooded valley with gorgeous pool area making a great day out (http://www.parc-en-ciel.com/).
* There are many companies that offer canoeing or boat hire down the beautiful Dordogne or Lot rivers. You can choose the distance you cover and stop off to visit villages or picnic along the way.
* The region is rich in history and has numerous castles and bastide (walled) towns to visit. We are particularly fond of Monpazier and Monflanquin (about 20km away), which are beautiful towns with craft and antique shops and plenty of excellent cafes and restaurants. Chateau Bonaguil is 8 km away from the property and is well worth a visit (http://www.chateau-bonaguil.com/). We also love the much smaller chateau at Gavaudun, with it's access staircase cut into the rock (6km away).
* In the summer months on most evenings you can find a local village fete where you can mix with the locals and enjoy regional food and wine.
* The prehistoric sites of the Dordogne, such as the troglodyte village at Roque Saint-Christophe (http://www.roque-st-christophe.com/) and caves at Lascaux are within easy reach.
Details of local amenities and attractions are provided in your welcome pack on arrival and we are happy to offer advice or help with bookings.

About Anna Murray
My brother Al and I bought La Terrisse in 2007. I am Anna and I live in South Devon with my 14 year old daughter Jess. We live next door to my parents Ron and Enid who both made phenomenal contributions to the design and renovation of La Terrisse. Al lives about 15 minutes from the property in France with his partner Sam and 9 year old son Sebastian. They also live with extended family, Sam's mum Sheila. Between us we have three dogs, Lottie, Marley and Ellie. Al looks after the property and will greet you when you arrive. I deal with the bookings back in the UK, please contact me if you have any queries.

Why Anna Murray chose Cuzorn
When we drove down the drive to La Terrisse we were totally charmed. 'This isn't a house it's a hamlet' was our reaction. We loved the secluded courtyard setting and beautiful grounds, with the traditional old barns and outbuildings on the property. It was more than we had hoped for in our new venture. The surrounding area is dotted with bastide towns and chateaux on every hillside. The countryside is green and lush and renowned for fruit growing, particularly prunes. The majestic Lot and Dordogne rivers are nearby and meander lazily through the wooded valleys. The perfect location for a relaxing holiday immersed in French history, culture and natural beauty.
Pool / Spa
Quiet and comfortable retreat
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the great weather and made the most of the pool.
Very quiet and relaxing break. Taking meals on the terrace before retiring to a comfortable bed. Close to All the main. Supermarkets and near to the beautiful bastide of. Monflanquin, with a good choice of bars and restaurants.
Definitely come stay again.
Enchanting Gite, gardens and pool in a great location
We travelled down from UK for a week and was looking for a real home from home to relax in for our second week. The Gite is delightful, and both Alun and Anna go out of there way to make sure you have a great stress free time while ensuring your privacy is maintained. It’s unusual to find a place that you liked from the photos but once arrive you fall in love with the place. The pool is a really good size and Alun ensures it’s perfectly prepared for your arrival. The extensive garden, some to lawn and some areas left natural were a great bonus for our 2 golden retrievers to explore. The location is close to some great towns such a Domme, Monpazia and Monflanquin plus you’re close to the Lot and Dordogne rivers which provide lovely walks and sports.
The Gite has a nice covered terrace that has the last of the days sun, we BBQ’d most nights enjoying the local wine.
Looking forward to travelling back this way and would definately book again.

Peace and tranquillity
We loved our week at La Terrisse. If your looking for rest and relaxation this is the place, as a family of four we were never bored, the pool was fabulous, great little towns nearby for restaurants and watching the world go by, walks, and just sitting outside enjoying watching the children have so much fun.
Would highly recommend a visit and we will be back again!!
Beautiful gite, peaceful location.
Stayed at Pimple gite. The first impression as you come up the drive was wow! The gite and grounds are beautiful. The pimple is cosy and welcoming. The beds were extremely comfortable. The master suite was perfect to sleep in. Could not find fault with the accommodation. Quiet rural location, pure relaxation. Lots of walks. However just a short hop in the car got you to local shops and villages. Pool area and grounds were perfect.
Good BBQ and the outside seating area was exceptional. Even during the odd rain shower. You can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and peace. We took our dog Bo and she had a wonderful time. Throughly recommended accommodation for a peaceful relaxing French holiday.Thank you Alun and Sam. (Who are always to hand for advice) We had fabulous holiday.x
Thank you Dawn
We're very pleased you enjoyed your stay and hopefully you will come back again in the future.
Pimple Gite was well furnished and well equipped. The pool was superb. Nearby owner Alan is a great guy and was incredibly helpful over local facilities when we had a car problem. In sun or shower the covered loggia was invaluable. Bastide towns and villages in the area were delightful and shopping in Fumel supermarkets or local markets was very easy. Hard to believe how little we paid to enjoy being there for a fortnight.
Very pleased you enjoyed your stay Michael and that my brother looked after you well.
Hopefully we'll see you again in the future.
We spent two weeks in Pimple gite. Lovely accommodation, grounds and pool. In a good location to explore the countryside. Well equipped and helpful hosts / owners. Great to share with family / friends in other gite.
Nearest airport is at Bergerac, a 50 minute drive. A car is recommended.
The gites are about 9 hours drive from the ports at Calais and Roscoff.
Nearest village is Cuzorn with shop and bar, approximately 2km away. For supermarkets, chemists and larger selection of restaurants, Fumel is about 8km away. The beautiful historic bastide town of Monpazier is about 20km away and has plenty of excellent restaurants and shops selling local produce and crafts.
